English Lesson Plan - Class 3 - Week 7
Methodology :
Activity 1:
Brainstorming:
Introduce new vocabulary with meanings through picturecards.
Show the chart and elicit students’ knowledge about humanbody parts, what more to be learnt
through KWL charts anddiscuss about what parts are under our skin e.g. bones, organs, muscles
etc. Enlist them on white board.
Activity 2:
Play the audio track 52 and as students listen to it write allimportant facts about
heart & lungs on board.Students will write any two facts about heart & lungs in their notebooks.
Students to read the text carefully remembering the important information, afterwards listen to the
audio track 53 and answerthe Qs.
Activity 3:
Write different Qs about human body parts on small pages, students will be given one
page per student. Students have towrite their name and answer for teacher to check afterwards.
Let’s do it!
Students to discuss if they have ever gone to a doctor and howdoctor checks their pulse, guide
students about checking the pulse.
Activity:
Once students have learnt how to take their pulse, they willtake pulse as per the activity given
in Ex 4, LB pg. 107.

Students will read the text by taking turns following the pronunciation and intonation pattern.
Highlight how a punctuation mark affects the intonation pattern. They are to relate the text with
pictures given along the text.
Discussion about the events, characters &vocabulary will take place.Students to underline verbs
in the text. Students to read the text again and identify ‘who said this, to whom’.
Activity 3:
Afterwards students will read the text one by one following the pronunciation and intonation pattern.
Explain the story in simple words for students’ comprehension. Encourage students to guess the
meaning of difficult words using their prior knowledge and the context; afterwards write the difficult
words and their meanings on whiteboard
