ZAMBIAN YOUTH LEAGUE PROFILE

ZAMBIAN YOUTH LEAGUE is a well recognized youth-led, youth-focused Non-

governmental organization. Our core values are; Teamwork, Determination, Impartiality,
Commitment, integrity, equity, Volunteerism, Morality, Professionalism, Transparency and
Discipline.

We are fully registered by law under the National Youth development council Act No. 7 of 1986
(amended Act No. 13 Cap 144 of 1994), Registration Number - NYDC 0001187 and the
registrar of societies Act Cap 119, Registration Number - ORS/102/35/26424. We are also
registered as a Company Limited by guarantee with PACRA, companies Act No. 10 of 2017,
Registration Number – 120210023515.

We provide a platform and common ground for the participation and contribution of the
Zambian youths to National affairs. Our thematic areas are; Health, Education, Agriculture,
Governance, Climate change, Advocacy, Social-economic, Human rights, Science and
Technology, Entrepreneurship, Culture and heritage as well as religious issues. We delight in
seeing Youths being self-sustainable and passionate in issues of National interest. We unite the
youths in order for them to have unity of direction and unity of purpose.

We provide a platform for youth-led initiatives and nurture the young people through informed,
innovative and value driven approaches and raise up a purpose-driven generation of innovative
and creative youths who pursue meaningful careers thereby contributing to their personal
development as well as foster National social and economic development. We are creative
Youths with a purpose who think productivity, innovation and success in order to alleviate
poverty levels.

We also train and empower youths from rural and underserved communities by providing them
with vocational, soft and professional skills to help them become entrepreneurs. We envision to
see Youths being self-sustainable thereby contributing to National development for a better and
prosperous Zambia. We conduct development-impact youth-centered activities and programs
as well as viable and sustainable projects.
We focus on changing the mindsets of the youths so that they can think positivity and be creative
and innovative in order to seize available opportunities. We eradicate early child marriages and
alleviate teenage pregnancies. We also educate and sensitize youths so that they refrain from
illicit and destructive activities such as drug abuse, excessive alcoholism, thugery and
vandalism.
