Read the instructions carefully. Then, place your answer on the space provided. Save this document as
MidtermExam_<Surname>.pdf. Then, submit it in Pinnacle on or before April 17, 2023, 5pm.

I. Arrange the following steps in creating an Ethernet cable. Write the numbers 1 to 5 in the
space provided. (5 pts)

___5___ 1. To make sure you've successfully terminated each end of the cable, use a cable
tester to test each pin. Repeat steps 1-5 for the other end of the cable.
__4___ 2. Push the connector inside the crimping tool and squeeze the crimper all the way down.
___3___ 3. Carefully insert the wires all the way into the RJ45, making sure that each wire
passes through the appropriate guides inside the connector.
___2___ 4. Spread the four pairs of twisted wire apart and neatly align them in the T568B
orientation. Cut the wires as straight as possible, about 0.5 inch above the end of the jacket.
___1___ 5. Strip the cable jacket about 1.5 inch down from the end. Untwist the wire pairs.

II. Arrange the following steps in installing the network interface card. Write the numbers 1 to 5
in the space provided. (5 pts)

___5___ 1. Replace the computer case, plug the computer back in, and turn it on.
___4___ 2. Secure the card in the slot with the screw you removed in Step 2
___3___ 3. Line up the tabs and notches on the new network adapter card’s bottom with the
notches in the slot, then push the card slowly into the slot.

___2___ 5. With a small screwdriver, remove the single screw that holds that card in place.

III. Arrange the following steps in configuration/installing drivers of the network interface
card. Write the numbers 1 to 10 in the space provided. (10 pts)

Instructions:
1. Create a video tutorial that explains the concept of VTP and VLAN and show how to apply
them in a LAN (See technical specification below).
2. Use Packet Tracer to simulate the process. Make sure that you are visible in the video.
3. Limit your recordings to maximum of 5 minutes.
4. Upload your video demonstration to YouTube.com.
