OBJECTIVES OF THE STUDY
Informed Decision-Making
Empowering Farmers
DEFINITION OF TERMS
Agricultural practices
Agricultural practices are the strategies, methods, and activities used
by farmers to cultivate, maintain, and harvest crops or raise livestock. These
methods include land preparation, planting, irrigation, fertilization, pest and
disease control, crop rotation, and post-harvest management.
Productivity
Productivity in agriculture refers to the efficiency and output of
agricultural operations. It calculates the quantity of agricultural product
(crops or livestock) produced per unit of input (land, labor, capital, or time).
High agricultural productivity reflects the ability to produce more with less
resources, resulting in higher yields and profitability.
Assessment
Assessment in the context of agricultural practices and productivity is
systematically evaluating and analyzing many elements of farming activities.
It entails gathering and analyzing data on crop yields, input utilization, farm
management methods, environmental conditions, and socioeconomic
indicators in order to better understand agriculture's current situation and
suggest opportunities for development.
4
Sustainable Agriculture
Sustainable agriculture is the practice of farming that attempts to
fulfill current and future agricultural demands while protecting the
environment, conserving natural resources, and guaranteeing the economic
sustainability of farming communities. It entails using ecologically friendly
techniques such as organic farming, conservation agriculture, and
agroforestry to increase long-term agricultural production and resilience.
Evidence-Based Decision-Making
Evidence-based decision-making entails utilizing trustworthy and
objective information, data, and research findings to inform and guide
decision-making processes. When reviewing agricultural practices and
productivity, evidence-based decision-making entails employing
assessment results, research studies, and data analysis to make educated
decisions and design successful agricultural development and improvement
plans.
Livelihood
Livelihoods are the way of generating a steady income and meeting
one's fundamental requirements and well-being. In terms of agricultural
practices and production in Barangay Vintar, livelihoods are inextricably
linked to the revenue and job possibilities created by farming operations.
Assessing agricultural practices and productivity may assist improve
livelihoods by enhancing agricultural production, expanding economic
options, and assuring local food security.

CHAPTER 2
THEORETICAL FRAMEWORK
REVIEW OF LITERATURE
6
Rahman et al. (2019) investigated the influence of technology in
enhancing agricultural practices and output. The researchers emphasized the
importance of precision agricultural technology like remote sensing, GPS, and
data analytics in optimizing resource allocation, crop management, and
decision-making processes. They discovered that integrating technology into
agriculture can result in higher yields, lower input costs, and increased total
production.
7
stressed the need of effective and accessible extension programs that provide
farmers with the knowledge and skills they need to enhance their agricultural
methods.
CHAPTER 3
METHODOLOGY
Given the extensive scope of this study, it is expected that it will take
about 12 weeks to complete. The first four weeks will be spent developing
research tools and acquiring required licenses. The following six weeks will
be spent gathering data, including conducting interviews and focus group
discussions with farmers, agricultural experts, and important stakeholders in
8
Barangay Vintar. The remaining two weeks will be dedicated to data
analysis and report writing. This timetable enables a full and detailed
evaluation of agricultural methods and productivity in Barangay Vintar.
Research Instrument
Research Design
Data Gathered
9
To carry out this strategy, a team of researchers would distribute
questionnaires to a representative sample of farmers from Barangay Vintar.
The researchers would explain the study's goal and provide participants
instructions on how to complete the surveys. Farmers would be given a
fixed timeline to complete and submit surveys.
Once the surveys are gathered, the researchers will assemble and
analyze the data. This might entail tabulating the replies and computing
percentages to estimate the prevalence of particular farming practices and
issues. The information gathered using this technique would give useful
insights into the existing condition of agricultural practices and production in
Barangay Vintar.

should also guarantee that participants are neither pressured or tricked into
delivering certain replies or participating in activities that they are
uncomfortable with.
Ethical Review
Depending on the type and extent of the study, ethical approval from
an institutional review board or ethics committee may be required. This
guarantees that the study follows ethical norms and laws and adds an extra
degree of safety for the participants.
