EN 933-5:1998/A1:2004 (E) Foreword This document (EN 933-5:1998/A1:2004) has been prepared by Technical Committee CEN/TC 184 "Aggregates", the sectetariat of which is held by BSI This Amendment to the European Standard EN 933-5:1998 shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an identical text or by endorsement, at the latest by May 2005, and conflicting national standards shall be withdrawn at the latest by May 2005 According to the CENICENELEC Intemal Regulations, the national standards organizatons of the following Countries are bound to implement this European Standard: Austria, Belgium, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, taly, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and United Kingdom. EN 933-5:1998/A1:2004 (E) 4 Modification in clause 1 Scope ‘Amend the existing "NOTE" to read “NOTE 1” and add the following "NOTE 2”: “NOTE 2 For coarse aggregate between 4 mm end 20 mm the percentage of crushed or broken surfaces is linked to the flow coefficient and can therefore be used in association with the test method specified in EN 933-6." 2. Modification in clause 3 Definitions 39 crushed or broken surfaces ‘Amend the second sentence of the definition to read as follows: “if both the surface and the edges of a particle of crushed or broken gravel are worn or weathered then it shal be considered as rounded for the purposes ofthis test method."
