CASE 1
Repair of existing beam under Case 1 shall be done in the following sequence:
2. Once the demolition is completed, the forms and rebar work immediately follows. Form
settings are best illustrated on the attached drawing both for the section with hanger
support and section without hanger support.
3. The beam repair work is now ready for concrete pouring. Concrete mix are directly
conveyed on the prepared repair from transit mixer. During pouring, the concrete are
properly vibrated to avoid any loose or honeycomb result. This is done using concrete
vibrators.
4. The newly poured beam is allowed to cure as required and the forms shall be removed
once allowed for removal.
6. This repair procedure shall be done repeatedly to all beams under Case 1.
CASE 2
Repair of existing beam under case 2 shall be conducted in the manner described below:
1. Demolish the lower beam section using the breaking equipment set up as shown on the
attached illustration. Again, as in Case 1, temporary hanger support is necessary to allow
this method.
2. Once breaking of the section for repair is completed, forms and rebars are installed as
necessary. All formworks are securely fasten.
3. Concrete pouring is done from the top. Concrete mix is conveyed through a temporary
hole aided by tremie pipe to the section being repaired.
4. Curing period is observed and forms stripping immediately follows. The procedure is
best described on the attached illustrations.
5. This repair procedure is repeatedly done for beam repair under this category.
