Used research -based knowledge and principle of teaching-learning to enhance professional practice

Participants of this LAC are all the teachers of Eliseo Belen Elementary School-Annex. The main objective
of the said LAC is to enrich the knowledge and skills of the participants in the use of research-based
knowledge and principle of teaching-learning to enhance professional practice.

NARRATIVE REPORT ON THE IN-SERVICE TRAINING


February 8, 2023

Lewin (1890-1947) was a German-American social psychologist. He’s known for his
theory that human behavior is a function of our psychological environment, once said “No
research without action, no action without research”

There are 36 teachers in Eliseo Belen Elementary School-Annex have been blessed
and privileged for the learning opportunities given to them as they broaden their
horizons in the Used research -based knowledge and principle of teaching-learning to
enhance professional practice (PPST Indicator 1.2.2) on the in-service training held last
February 8, 2023 in the e-classroom.

The discussion was given by Grade Four teachers. ma’am Annaliza C. Manaloto
re-orient the participants about the Deped Order No. 42 s. 2017; The Philippine
Professional Standard for Teachers. Its objectives and mostly about the research-based
knowledge and principle of teaching-learning. ma’am Romina M. Maningas discussed
about the teacher professional development framework and the importance of research-
based knowledge in their career path.

Characteristics of research-based knowledge was discussed by ma’am Maricris R.


Hipolito, followed by ma’am Thelma A. De Jesus that gave her insights about the
principle of teaching. Another topic was discussed by ma’am Bessie E. Santos and
Cristine L. Pangilinan, its all about the principle of learning. Lastly, ma’am Romina M.
Maningas enlighten the participants about the application of research-based knowledge
in teaching .

The participants are also given time to asked questions and give their own point of
view about the topic that were discussed by the grade four teachers.

At the end of the each SLAC Sessions, the participants evaluated the overall
aspects of the sessions as in the objectives, resource speaker and the atmosphere during
the discussion.

A. Profile of the Program Course

I. Title of the Program or Course


Used research -based knowledge and principle of teaching-learning
to enhance professional practice (PPST Indicator 1.2.2)

II. Rationale
School – based Learning Action Cell (SLAC)/ INSET of Used research -based
knowledge and principle of teaching-learning to enhance professional practice
(PPST Indicator 1.2.2). Our 21st Century learners must have a top caliber teachers
that will develop them holistically.

This School – based Learning Action Cell (SLAC),INSET will provide an


opportunity for teachers to sit together, review on some specific instructional
concerns and discuss on topics that can solve everyday problems in struggling
readers in the classroom. This will also serve to support the teachers for some
innovative practices that would enhance their skills and competencies. Teachers
will be equipped with the necessary teaching strategies and techniques in
developing the learners literacy level .

In this pandemic, the education sector is facing big challenges of coping up.
Thus training teachers has never been more imperative than now.

III. Program or Course Description

The used of research -based knowledge and principle of teaching-learning


to enhance professional practice (PPST Indicator 1.2.2) will discussed with the
Eliseo Belen Elementary School-Annex teachers on February 8, 2023.

Throughout the day, the 36 teachers shall be in school to ensure their


focused attention to the training inputs. They shall be accommodated in the
school’s ICT room, observing the proper health protocol and social distancing. A
large TV screen and sound system shall be provided.

enrich teaching practice

learning process

The professional standards covered are the Philippine Professional Standards


for Teachers.

The training time will cover four hours on the first day of INSET.
