2 ZED - Zonal Employee Discount

ZED - Zonal Employee Discounts, are agreed upon discounts for reduced rate personal/leisure travel for
airline employees and other eligible travelers (i.e., dependants, parents, etc.). Airlines may agree to offer
one of three space available ZED fare levels (Low-ZL, Medium-ZM, High-ZH), known as Standby (YR2), or
positive space (Firm-YR1) reservation status. At present, Calm Air processes only Standby-YR2 ZED
bookings with partner airlines.

YR1: ZED Confirmed Economy class - (three different levels ZL, ZM and ZH)
YR2: ZED Space Available Economy class - (three different levels ZL, ZM and ZH)

ZED is half of a larger organization known as the ZED/MIBA Forum. The Forum is made up of over 175
member airlines from all parts of the globe, participating in the ZED and/or the MIBA (Multilateral Interline
Business Agreement) programs. ZED and MIBA discounts may be offered for travel on/by other airlines,
as bilaterally agreed, or by the airline's own employees traveling on its own flights as per ISTA – Interline
Staff Travel Agreement.

3 ISTA – Interline Staff Travel Agreement and ZED-MIBA

ISTA - Interline Staff Travel Agreement hereinafter referred to as the “Agreement”, and its appendices
and annexes reflect the concurrence of the participating airlines to standardize and simplify procedures
concerning mutual Zonal Employee Discount (ZED) travel for their respective employees and other eligible
persons in accordance with IATA Resolution 788 and to facilitate transportation of such individuals. Such
concurrences are now established and negotiated electronically via ZED-MIBA Forum website within
participating members on bilateral basis where after agreeing on conditions and fare levels are loaded in
myIDTravel platform for operational usage by airline employees and their dependants, and beneficiaries
where applicable.

7 How to update new/existing profiles and add eligible dependents

and beneficiaries?
• Download and Open the Excel file on Compass under Human Resources – Employee Resources
section named “myIDTravel Employee Profile Update File - July 2022”
• The Excel file will have two tabs/pages as per the example below:

1. Sample of completed profile

2. To be completed by Employee (which needs to be updated by Employee)

• Important:
- Before adding any new dependent/beneficiary/designated travel partner data, first row will
have to be completed with Employee information (regardless of whether Employee data
already exists in the myIDTravel). Please refer to sample. Mandatory fields will have to be
chosen from drop down list and cannot be edited.
• Please send the completed Excel file to passbureau@calmair.com
• Incomplete or inaccurate files will be sent back for correction and may cause delay in updating
information.
• Profiles will be updated within 7 business days following internal validation and approval.

Below is the step-by-step process for completing each section of the Excel file. Please note to refer to the
Sample for accurate data input and format:

Employee PTC: Choose from the drop-down list to match with Dependent type. Employee
Spouse/Common Law Partner and Retirees = ZEA, Child = ZEC (only children for age 2-11, above age must
be indicated as ZEA), Infant = ZEI (only infants for age 0-1), Parents = ZEP (ZEP applicable only on other
airlines via myIDTravel) and Designated Travel Companion = ZSS (ZSS is applicable only for Calm Air
flights via myIDTravel). An employee cannot have a spouse AND a DTC registered for travel benefits, they
must choose one or the other. A DTC can be used in lieu of a spouse travel benefit.

Note:

- Parents = ZEP is applicable only for other airline bookable via myIDTravel where Calm Air has
agreement to include Parents eligibility.
- Designated Travel Companion = ZSS is applicable only on Calm Air flights and can be booked via
