Code of Conduct Policy
Code of Conduct Policy
Purpose
The primary goal of SlideHub's Code of Conduct is to foster inclusive, collaborative, and safe
working conditions for all SlideHub staff. As such, SlideHub are committed to providing a
friendly, safe and welcoming environment for all staff, regardless of gender, sexual orientation,
physical ability, ethnicity, socioeconomic status, and religion.
This code of conduct outlines our expectations for all SlideHub staff, as well as the
consequences of unacceptable behavior.
Scope
The Code of Conduct applies to all SlideHub staff. This includes full-time, part-time and
contractor staff employed at every seniority level. The Code of Conduct is to be upheld during
all professional functions and events, including but not limited to business hours at the SlideHub
office, during SlideHub - related extracurricular activities and events, while attending
conferences and other professional events on behalf of SlideHub, and while working remotely
and communicating on SlideHub resources with other staff.
We expect all SlideHub staff to abide by this Code of Conduct in all business matters -- online
and in-person -- as well as in all one-on-one communications with customers and staff
pertaining to SlideHub business.
This Code of Conduct also applies to unacceptable behavior occurring outside the scope of
business activities when such behavior has the potential to adversely affect the safety and well-
being of SlideHub staff and clients.
Be considerate. Your work at SlideHub will be used by other people, and you in turn will depend
on the work of others. Any decision you take will affect users, clients, and colleagues, and you
should take those consequences into account when making decisions.
Be respectful. Not all of us will agree all the time, but disagreement is no excuse for poor
behavior and poor manners. We might all experience some frustration now and then, but we
cannot allow that frustration to turn into a personal attack. It's important to remember that a
company where people feel uncomfortable or threatened is neither productive nor pleasant.
SlideHub staff should always be respectful when dealing with other personnel as well as with
people outside of SlideHub employment.
Performance and career progress: Performance and alignment with these cultural ideas are the
main drivers of professional success and promotions within SlideHub.
We work as a professional sports team: We work as a professional sports team: We know that
any work left undone leaves more work to our colleagues and limits our potential to succeed as
a team/company. We also recognize that everyone needs to carry their weight to keep a spot
on the team. To avoid negative stress, we aim to help anyone who is overburdened and instead
try to find ways to carry as a team. As managers, we aim to put the team's productivity ahead
of our own personal outcomes to optimize the outcome of the team over the outcome of the
individual manager.
Focus over hours: We work hard and focused when we are at work, while also respecting each
other's time to enable others to do the same. As a result, we aim to enable career progression
while working "9 to 5". At the same time, we want to offer highly ambitious people a chance to
benefit from putting in the extra effort. However, working additional hours will never be a
prerequisite for career progression.
Owner mindset: Everyone acts and behaves like a company owner by considering the company-
wide implications (both short-term and long-term) of their actions and ideas. As a result, we aim
to take action, make decisions, and present ideas that consider the implications on clients,
investors, financial situations, designers, and other teams - not just our own roles.
Radical candor: Radical candor is the foundation for how we communicate with each other. We
want what is best for one another in the long term and thus provide both good and bad
feedback to our teammates, managers, and the senior leadership team. As a result, we take
pride in having hard conversations that help other people and the company improve.
Own our tasks and mistakes: We take ownership of our tasks by ensuring things get done. As a
result, we always follow up and ensure that tasks get done in an impactful way - also if
someone else is doing the majority of the work. Similarly, we take ownership of our mistakes. As
a result, we are transparent, don't pass blame, and share mistakes with the team so that others
can learn from our mistakes.
Welcome change: We accept and value that our organization and our way of working are
constantly changing to solve problems better and align with these cultural concepts.
Problem-solving over rules: We always prioritize solving problems over following strict rules
and processes. As a result, rules and processes are seen as a tool for simplifying things and
should never get in the way of following these cultural concepts.
Communication: Since we have reduced the structure of constant calls in Delivery it is very
important to be aware of your communication with your colleagues, not only from delivery but
also from other departments. It's very important to keep the ball going and be available and on
the lookout for messages on Teams and your e-mail during working hours. If you cannot reply
right away, make sure to at least acknowledge the message and say you will get back to the
person later. Also, as most employees are working from home and are from different countries
(have never met in person) it is a common courtesy to have your camera on when in meetings
since it will help with maintaining and developing the relationships between colleagues and
departments.
Participate in an authentic and active way. In doing so, you contribute to the health and
longevity of SlideHub.
Exercise consideration and respect in your speech and actions at all times.
Attempt collaboration before conflict.
Refrain from demeaning, discriminatory, or harassing behavior and speech.
Be mindful of your surroundings and of your fellow participants. Alert SlideHub leadership
if you notice a dangerous situation, someone in distress, or violations of this Code of
Conduct, even if they seem inconsequential.
Remember that SlideHub events may be shared with members of the public and SlideHub
customers; please be respectful to all patrons of these locations at all times.
If a staff member engages in unacceptable behavior, SlideHub leadership may take any action
deemed appropriate, up to and including suspension or termination.
Reporting Violations
If you are subject to or witness unacceptable behavior, or have any other concerns, please
notify an appropriate member of SlideHub leadership or HR as soon as possible.
Responsibility
It is the HR Manager's responsibility to ensure this policy is followed.
