1. GOOD MORNING EVERYONE! Welcome aboard to
C.I. THIS IS CAPTAIN AGNES B. MAPUTE, TAKING YOU
TO THE LAND OF GOLD,,.. BULAWAN ELEM.
SCHOOL….THE SCHOOL C.I. TEAM COMPOSE OF THE
BEAUTIFUL FACES THAT TRIED TO MAKE A
THOROUGH JOB JUST TO KEEP YOU SAILING WITH A
SMILE IN THIS VESSEL CALLED “LODI” LEARNER’S
ORAL DEVELOPMENT & INTERVENTION ”.
BEFORE I’LL PRESENT THE JOURNEY WE HAVE WALKED
THROUGH, LET ME FIRST GIVE YOU A LITTLE BACKGROUND
OF OUR SCHOOL.
 BULAWAN ELEM. SCHOOL OF GUINDULMAN
DISTRICT IS A COMPLETE NON-CENTRAL SCHOOL
SITUATED APPROXIMATELY 1.5 KLS. AWAY FROM
THE TOWN PROPER.
 THE SCHOOL HAS 7 FEMALE NATIONALLY PAID
TEACHERS TEACHING 155 PUPILS AND IS HEADED BY
A CLUSTER HEAD.
2. WHERE WERE WE BEFORE?
 BASED ON THE RESULT OF ORV ENGLISH PRE-TEST
OF GRADE3 PUPILS, IT REVEALED THAT 11 OUT OF 21
(52%) OF PUPILS ARE FRUSTRATION READERS. THIS
SCENARIO GIVE WAY TO THE EXISTENCE OF THIS
PROJECT: “LODI”.
 OUR AIM AND OBJECTIVE IS TO IMPROVE THE
READING SKILLS OF OUR FRUSTRATION READERS
TARGETING (90%) OF THE 11 PUPILS.
 OUR MAIN FOCUS IS TO IMPROVE THE READING
SKILLS OF OUR GRADE 3 PUPILS, HENCE THIS IS THE
BASIC SKILLS NEEDED TO BE DEVELOPED.
3. WHERE ARE WE NOW?
 AFTER THE DIFFERENT INTERVENTIONS DONE BY
THE C.I. TEAM
, A REWARD FOR THE TEAM’S EFFORT AND
SACRIFICES WAS BESTOWED. 8 OUT OF 11 IMPROVE
THEIR READING ABILITIES.
 AND FOR OUR ROLL-OUT, SINCE IT TURNED OUT TO
BE SUCCESSFUL IN THE GRADE 3 FRUSTRATION
READERS, WE ALSO ROOL IT OUT TO OUR GRADE 6
FRUSTRATION ENGLISH READERS. FROM 8
FRUSTRATION READERS TO 5 INSTRUCTIONAL
READERS.
 ISN’T IT WORTH REWARDING? WELL, “IT’S A BIG
YES!”
 YOU MIGHT BE WONDERING WHY WE CHOOSE GR.6
AS OUR ROLL-OUT RESPONDENTS. THIS IS BECAUSE
GR.6 HAS THE SECOND LARGE NUMBER TO HAVE
FRUSTRATION READERS.
 THESE PUPILS HAVE UNDERWENT THE SAME
ACTIVITIES AND SERVICES THAT THE TEAM OFFERED
TO THE GRADE3 RESPONDENTS.

4. HOW DID WE DO IT?


 HOW DID WE DO IT? WHAT DID WE DO TO ATTAIN
SUCH POSITIVE & REWARDING RESULTS? WELL,
IT’S NOT THAT EASY.
 THE TEAM WALKED ALONG THE ROCKY ROAD. WE
STUMBLED, WE FALL, WE GOT FRUSTRATED... BUT
BECAUSE OF THE VIRTUE OF UNITY, DEDICATION
AND LOVE TO OUR PUPILS , WE SURPASSED THE 9
STEPS OF THE C.I. PROGRAM.
 FIRST, WE CONDUCTED AN INTERVIEW USING THE
QUESTION: “NGANONG HINAY MAN KA MUBASA UG
ENGLISH WORDS?”
 WE ALSO OBSERVED THE TEACHER IN ORDER TO SEE
THE PROCESS.
 AFTER COLLECTING THE VOICES OF OUR
CUSTOMERS, OBSERVING THE PROCESS, THE C.I.
TEAM CONDUCTED A ROOT CAUSE ANALYSIS,
FOLLOWING THE WHY-WHY- DIAGRAM, AND THEN
VALIDATED THESE CAUSES AND GAVE
RECOMMENDATIONS FOR IMPROVEMENTS.
 THAT’S WHAT C.I….IS FOR!!
 INTENSIVE REMEDIALS DONE BY THE TEACHER WITH
THE USE OF DIFFERENT ATTRACTIVE AND COLORFUL
READING MATERIALS. INTERNET CONNECTION IS OF
GREAT HELP IN SURFING THOSE DIFFERENT
MATERIALS BEING USED .
 OUR SCHOOL HAVE DIFFERENT BOOKS GIVEN FROM
THE MUNICIPAL WHICH WE ALSO UTILIZED DURING
THE DAILY REMEDIATION PERIOD.
 AFTER UNDERGOING THE STEPS, THE TEAM COME
UP TO THE FOLLOWING PILOT & ROLL-OUT
LEARNINGS:
 Utilization of remedial reading period helps a
lot in improving pupils’ reading ability.
 Multi-media arouses pupils’ interest in
reading.
 Parents’ involvement and guidance are very
significant in helping the children to be able to
read.
 Providing the pupils with colorful and
appropriate reading materials in school and at
home can foster reading habits.
 WHEN WE SUMMARIZED ALL THE STEPS WE HAVE
UNDRETAKEN, WE SAID TO OURSELVES “ SUCCESS,
WE DID IT!!!
5. WHERE DO WE GO FROM HERE?
 FOR S.Y. 2017-2018 3rd QUARTER THE C.I. TEAM
DECIDED TO SUSTAIN THE “LODI” LEARNER’S ORAL
DEVELOPMENT & INTERVENTION TO ALL GRADE
HAVING FRUSTRATION READERS .
 AGAIN , THIS IS CAPT. AGNES SAYING, THANK YOU
