Sub-Task 1.1: Sketch and draw the floor plan using AutoCAD
Sub-Task 3.2: Install an electrical distribution panel box as per location on the
floor plan.
Sub-Tasks 5.1:

i. Measure & cut conductors to the required length for the main supply
from panel in reference to circuit diagram
ii. Pull the conductors through the PVC conduit.
iii. Cut and Pull wires through PVC conduit from main junction box to
octagonal can and then form octagonal can to 2”×4” can
iv. Make connections in junction box referring to the circuit diagram
v. Use the wire stripper and screw-it connectors to make the necessary
connections
vi. Testing the circuit’s continuity and functionally
vii. Test the circuit for continuity and functionality
Sub-Tasks:
i. Install a light bulb in the lamp holder and test the operation of the
circuit
ii. Measuring the current in the circuit and comparing with calculated
value using Ohm’s law and Watt’s law
iii. Isolating and disconnecting the temporary 115V power source
Sub-Tasks 6.1 and 6.2: Building and testing a two-way lighting circuit
i. Install two (2) 2”×4” cans for both two-way switches to TTBS codes
ii. Measure & cut of ½” PVC conduit to the required length to link the two
(2) 2”×4” cans to the main junction box to acceptable workmanship
standards;
iii. Bend offsets and 90° bends on ½” PVC conduit to neatly layout from
the two (2) 2”×4” cans to the main junction box;
iv. Draw circuit diagram in three different representations to acceptable
electrical standards;

v. Link both 2”×4” cans to the 4 ×4 {11} over {16} main junction box;

vi. Install ring device covers on the cans;
vii. Test the circuit for continuity and correct operation;
viii. Measure the current in the circuit and comparing with calculated value
using Ohm’s law and Watt’s law;
ix. Isolate and disconnect the temporary 115V power source;
i. Install two (2) 2”×4” cans for socket outlets with reference to floor
plan and the TTBS
ii. Bend the necessary offsets and 90° for layout of conduit to link the
2”×4” cans to the main junction box
iii. Selection of the appropriate size and colour conductor for socket
outlets (115V/20A)
iv. Connect both socket outlets in each 2”×4” can making electrically
and mechanically sound connections
v. Attach both socket outlets on the 2”×4” cans
Attach the socket outlet covers on the socket outlets
vi. Pull conductors for (115V/20A) socket outlet from panel box to
main junction box
vii. Test the circuit for continuity, and for correct operation using the
multi-meter
viii. Measure the voltage and polarity in both socket outlets
ix. Isolate and disconnect the temporary 115V power source
Sub-Tasks:
i. Install a 2”×4” can for a G.F.C.I outlet in reference to the floor plan
ii. Link the 2”×4” can to the main junction box

iii. Link 2”×4” can to the 4 ×4 {11} over {16} main junction box

iv. Wire the 2”×4” can and G.F.C.I to the main junctions with reference
to the circuit diagram, floor plan and the TTBS codes
v. Strip the conductors and connect to the two (2) two-way switches with
reference to the circuit diagram
vi. Test the circuit for continuity and correct operation using the multi-
meter
vii. Connect a temporary 115V power source to the circuit with reference
to the circuit diagram
viii. Test the fault protection in the GFCI circuit
ix. Measure the voltage in the GFCI and compare it with the voltage in the main
panel
x. Isolate and disconnect the temporary 115V power source
Task 9: Build and test a lighting circuit with one dimmer switch
controlling one wall lamp.

ii. Install a 2”×4” can for the switch and an octagonal can for the lighting
receptacle

iii. Installation of conduit link from panel to 4 ×4 {11} over {16} main

iv. Installation of PVC conduit to link 2”×4” can to octagonal can and to

the 4 ×4 {11} over {16} main junction box

v. Selection of the correct conductor size and color for lighting circuits in
accordance with the TTBS electrical codes
vi. Cut and Pull wires from main junction box to octagonal can and then
form octagonal can to 2”×4” can
vii. Connect conductors to the lamp holder
viii. Test the circuit’s continuity and functionally
ix. Connect a temporary 115V power source to the circuit with reference
to the circuit diagram
x. Test the operation of the circuit
xi. Measure the current in the circuit and compare with calculated value
i. Installation of two (2) 2”×4” cans for the 220V/20A socket outlets and
the (SPDT) with reference to floor plan and the TTBS electrical codes;
ii. Installation of conduit to link the two (2) 2”×4” cans together and to the
Sub-Tasks:
i. Strip the ends of all the conductors in the panel box at approximately
1 cm
ii. Twisting the strands at the ends of all the conductors for termination.
iii. Connecting all the neutral conductors on the neutral bar of the panel
box.
iv. Installation of an earth lug in the panel box.
v. Connecting all ground conductors to the earth lugs.
vi. Selecting the accurate amperage of breakers for each circuit as
specified in the TTBS electrical codes.
vii. Installation of all breakers on the bus bar of the panel starting with the
lower amperage breaker at position number one (1).
viii. Connect all the live conductors of the circuits to their respective
breakers with reference to the TTBS electrical codes.
ix. Connecting a temporary 220V power source in the panel box.
x. Using the multi-meter to measure the voltage in all aspects of the
circuit.
xi. Test all the lighting circuits by operating the respective switches.
xii. Isolating and disconnecting the temporary 220V power source.
