Typologies are important as it allows individuals to know specific yet simple information about a

certain community. It can act as an identifier, allowing you to have a basis of how a community is formed,
developed, or organized. Typologies also let people be aware about certain details about a community, as
each typology has their own definitions that lets us put that identity in a particular community.

Being able to know about the typology of a certain community has many importances and
benefits. Being aware of this allows us to know the structure, identity, and characteristics about a
community. For example, typologies let us know how a community is formed with the use of
formal-informal typology. Communities that are formal are created through management. A professional
relationship that exists within a community, while having authority over them. On the other hand, an
informal community simply exists because of their similar interests and goals. There are no authorities in
informal communities, they see each other as equal as a group.

Another situation where typologies guide us to know about a certain community is by being
aware of the geographic and environment that these have. Rural-urban typology allows us to have a
simple understanding of how certain communities can be viewed. Rural communities are less advanced
and less crowded. An area where agriculture stands more and the environment is being preserved to be
greener. In contrast, urban communities are more advanced but busier. A place developed to facilitate
businesses, works, and markets.

Typologies help us understand the limits and extent of communities too. Local-global
communities lets us differentiate what communities stay within geographic boundaries- local, and what
communities reach farther than that and reach different areas around the globe- global. We also have
sectoral and social-spaces typology that lets people know about what organizations function outside the
government- which is the community sector, and social spaces which are either owned privately or owned
by the government.

In my community, the one I feel close to the most, functions in an informal community. Our
group is simply made because of the similar characteristics we have. From our interests, abilities, beliefs,
and talents, our group is compromised by a mix of intellect and emotion. My friend group is an artistic
one, with all of us having our own uniqueness, yet a share of similarities. Typologies have allowed us to
easily identify communities more with simpler ideas. It is beneficial as it can help us differentiate
communities and understand what details make a community to be kind.
