TASK 1
SSED 321- Technology Application in
Social Studies Teaching

CAY, KRISTANNE GAIL DG.

BSED SSTU 3201
Among the theories that we’ve been discussed last time, I
think the most applicable to use in teaching Social Studies is
the Social Learning Theory. According to Albert Bandura,
social learning theory emphasizes the role of social
interactions and observational learning. It is also occurred
through observing others and participating in social contexts.

Although social learning theory emphasizes the relationship

between social environment and individual behavior, it is
highly relevant to social studies education. This theory offers
educators important insights into how children pick up
knowledge, attitudes, and values through social interactions
by promoting observation, imitation, and modeling as
essential learning mechanisms. Educators can create
experiential learning activities, encourage collaborative
environments, and develop critical thinking abilities by
incorporating social learning theory into their teaching
strategies.

Thus, there are several interactive educational apps that are

accessible, and I chose using Google Classroom. By giving
students access to a platform that encourages interactive
and collaborative learning, Google Classroom supports the
social learning theory. With the help of Google Classroom's
capabilities, which include group projects, shared documents,
and discussion boards, students can interact socially, see the
contributions of their peers, and set an example of behavior
that promotes deeper knowledge. Through the platform's
encouragement of engagement and dialogue, students can
benefit from one another's viewpoints and experiences.
