    1. The default password for first year and gap year students at UKZN is their student number followed by Stu@ and their date of birth in ddmmyyyy format. 2. To change the password on campus, students should log in with the default password and the system will prompt them to change it or they can press CTRL+ALT+DEL and select change password. 3. To change the password off campus, students should go to password.ukzn.ac.za, enter their student email address, the old default password, and set a new password following the rules of having a minimum of 8 characters including a capital letter, small letter and numbers.

    USERNAME: YOUR STUDENT NUMBER
    PASSWORD: Stu@ddmmyyyy
    e.g. if your date of birth is 12 May 2003, then
    your password will be Stu@12052003

    TO CHANGE YOUR PASSWORD


    AT THE LAN (ON CAMPUS)
    Log on using the details above. The system will
    either prompt you to change the password or if it
    logs you in without requesting the change, then
    once you are on the desktop press CTRL+ALT+DEL
    and select Change Password
    TO CHANGE YOUR PASSWORD
    OFF CAMPUS
    -Go to a Web browser (Chrome, Internet Explorer,
    Firefox)
    -Enter password.ukzn.ac.za ( do not enter www) press GO
    -Enter your student email address
    e.g. if your student number is 250123205, then
    your email address is 250123205@stu. ukzn.ac.za
    -Old password: Stu@ddmmyyyy
    -New Password : Your new password
    -Confirm new password : confirm your new password

    NEW PASSWORD RULES


    -It must not contain your name or surname
    -Must have a minimum of 8 characters
    -Must have a capital letter, small letter and
    numbers
    e.g. 3JkZ3364m
