1. Tissue type: Simple squamous epithelial Feature: nucleus
Go to the Histology lab slide box for simple epithelial tissues by clicking here: (Keep this page open
to help you.)

Click On simple epithelium. Zoom in to examine the first picture. You should see several tissue
types. There is some connective tissue, cartilage. Read the info on the side bar at the right. Click on
the words enal co p cle and it will take you to the simple squamous epithelium. You are looking at
the flat tissues that the arrows are pointing at.

Draw what you see here in the circle below and label the nucleus of the cells, and draw an
arrow to a cell.

2. Tissue type: simple cuboidal epithelium Feature: Lumen, nucleus

Go to the Histology lab slide box for simple cuboidal epithelium tissues by clicking here: Click On
the second picture and zoom in. You should see several tissue types. Move around the slide and zoom
in and see if you can locate some simple cuboidal tissue. Once you think you have found some, read

3. Tissue type: simple columnar epithelium Features: microvilli, goblet cells, ciliated/nonciliated,
basement membrane, lumen, nucleus, microvilli (brush border)

Goblet cell, Lumen (trachea), basement membrane
