Before talking about the history of Kurnool, I will be talking a little bit about

“Kurnool” as a whole to give the readers an Idea of how simplistic yet beautiful
Kurnool is, a little big city located at the head of Andhra Pradesh state. As
located at the border of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh ,it is also referred to as
the “Gateway to Rayalaseema”. Kurnool lies in an upland region at the confluence of
the Tungabhadra and Hindri rivers, about 100 miles (160 km) south-southeast of
Hyderabad in Telangana state. It also serves as the head quarters of Kurnool
district and also plays a significant role in region of Rayalaseema(Rayalaseema is
a dry, rocky region in southern Andhra Pradesh, comprising of four districts:
Anantapur, Chittoor, Kadapa, and Kurnool. It's known for agriculture, distinct
culture, and historical significance). Kurnool has a rich historical significance,
with evidence of human habitation dating back to the Paleolithic era. It was part
of the Vijayanagara Empire and later came under the control of various other
dynasties, including the Mughals and the British. Economically an agrarian economy,
Kurnool has also developed industrial sectors such as textiles, cement, and granite
mining. It serves as a commercial hub for the surrounding areas.Kurnool plays a
important role as a hub for many industries and business which contributes to
Andhrapradesh's economy.
