Topic of the Lesson: Unit 3 On Broadway!
Writing: Planning and making notes

OBJECTIVES:

1. PEDAGOGICAL

- to be able to write a composition including an introduction, a main part and a


conclusion

2. EDUCATIONAL

a) language elements:

- vocabulary– revising the previously learned vocabulary

b) language functions:

- to be able to make a difference between an introduction, a main part and a


conclusion so as to write a composition

c) language skills:

- listening (to the teacher, the other students)


- reading (the exercises from the book, the students’ compositions)
- speaking (students talk about their holidays and places they have visited)
- writing (the composition in the notebook)

TEACHING MATERIALS: book, chalk, pictures of holidays/ famous places, blackboard

METHODS: eclectic approach (i.e. a combination of the other approaches)

FORMS OF ORGANISING CLASSROOM ACTIVITIES: frontal, individual, group


work and in pairs

LESSON DEVELOPMENT

1. INTRODUCTORY PART

1.1 I ask a few students when and where they were on a holiday and what they will
remember it after.

1.2 Writing the title on the board and translating it.

2. MAIN PART

2.1 Students read ex.N˚1 and answer the questions about the model plan.

2.2 Explaining the tip note and the steps included when writing a composition.

2.3 Students read and add the extra notes to the correct paragraph of the plan in
ex.N˚2.

2.4 Doing ex.N˚3 and following the given instruction. Reading some of the students’
compositions.

3. CONCLUDING PART

Setting a homework assignment from the workbook.
