Survival instinct : the instinct in humans and animals to do things in


a dangerous situation that will prevent them from dying

What is an example of a survival instinct?

Our “fight or flight” reaction may be our best-known expression of our survival instinct. This
response set is triggered when we (and all animals) perceive a situation as a threat to our
existence; our sympathetic nervous system activates rapid emotional, psychological, and
physical changes.

Do all humans have survival instinct?

Humans by birth have the natural instinct to survive. It is those best adapted to the
environment that continue to survive and pass their characteristics, feelings, and behaviors
to generations to come. The primal instincts of humans is to hunt and gather. This is used in
