( Students raising their hand)

Yes, Daphne?
EUSTRESS
Is a positive form of stress having a
beneficial effect on health, motivation,
performance, and emotional well-being.

People can experience eustress when

they feel confident in their ability to
solve a problem or cope with a
situation. For example, they may feel
stressed about an exam but know that
they have prepared enough to be able
to do it.

do?

Yes Sharon? Ma’am Talk to your friend and tell your

parents, so that the problem can be solved
immediately.

Kindly read the Distress

DISTRESS
People in distress may also feel that they
are not able to manage or cope with
changes caused by normal life activities or
by having a disease, such as cancer.

This type of stress is caused by

situations that feel overwhelming and
lead to feelings of anxiety, depression,
and other negative symptoms. Examples
of distress include losing a job or going
through a breakup.

This is the example of distress.

( Students raising their hand)
Our example here is Lovelife.

Yes Angel?
When the couple breaks up, others commit
suicide and, others lock themselves in their
room or drink alcohol.

( Students raising their hand)

Yes Jayvee, please read. STRESS MANAGEMENT

 With good management of our
mental health, we can easily
overcome what challenges us from
our daily difficulties and trials.
Instead of dwelling on negativity,
having good stress management is
everybody’s need.
 We must know what are the coping
skill that can help us grow and have
good mental health.

You don't need to cope with stress at

work alone
Here are some general ideas you can try
to help you manage
Check reality

Kindly read. When you’re in a high-pressure situation,

examine your train of thought to see if it’s
adding to the stress you feel.

examine your train of thought to see if

it's adding to the stress you feel. Are
you imagining a far worse outcome than
is likely? Is the project or situation likely
to affect your job approval, reputation,
or income?

Kindly read. Manage your time

Correct time and priority management can
reduce a lot of workplace stress.

It helps you decide which things are

urgent and which can wait. When you
manage your time, you decide which
tasks and activities are most important
to you.

Kindly read. Take a break

Hourly mini-breaks where you stretch your
shoulders, back, and neck can provide
physical stress relief. This can then reduce
mental stress. Lunch is often skipped at the
expense of more stress. Try to take lunch if
you can.

Taking breaks helps you maintain your

mental and physical health. You want to
calm your central nervous system and
shift brain states. Relaxing activities
like walking

Kindly read. Eat a healthy diet and exercise regularly

A healthy diet rich in whole foods, fruits,
vegetables, whole grains, and lean protein
may reduce stress. Having lots of caffeine,
sugar, and alcohol can increase it.

Many studies have found exercise reduces

stress. Aerobic exercise works best for

most people. This includes running,
swimming, or brisk walking. Yoga, Pilates,
tai chi, or simple stretching can also help.
They help create a calmer, meditative
state.

Exercise and other physical activity

produce endorphins chemicals in the
brain that act as natural painkillers and
also improve the ability to sleep, which in
turn reduces stress.

Be realistic
Kindly read.
Stop promising to do more than you can
handle. Be polite as you say, “With the
workload I have, I can’t take on more at
this time.”

Thinking realistically helps you to have a

concrete view of the world, the
problems you are facing and how to
solve them instead of wallowing in
feelings of frustration or self-deception.
Communicate
Kindly read. Talking with a family member or friend
outside of work about the issues that cause
your stress at work can help you put things
in perspective. Explore solutions and ways
to cope together.

Communication where people work

together to solve problems or to plan
for the future is an important way of
regaining a positive sense of control.

Get help
Kindly read.
If you’ve tried these self-help methods but
continue to be highly stressed, get help.

Talk with a mental health provider who

specializes in stress management.

At work, when you are struggling with a

particular task, if you don't ask for

you can't improve. Don’t be afraid to
get help to others.
