SY 2022-2023

School: Sto. Niño Elementary School

School Principal: Leonardo B. Obnimaga
Teacher: Christine E. Teves
Date: May 29, 2023

I. OBJECTIVE:
- Differentiate between rotation and revolution and describe the effects of
the Earth’s motion

II. SUBJECT MATTER

Topic: Addition of Integers
Sources: MATH (MELCS) p.103
21st Century Mathletes Teachers Manual p.44-47
21st Century Mathletes Textbook p.92-99
Math 6 Module Q2 week 5
Materials: tv, powerpoint, laptop, chalkboard, and chalk

Integration of Learning: English & Literature –

III. PROCEDURE
A. Preparation
-Opening prayer
-Class Attendance
-Drill
Which integers in each pair have a greater distance from zero?
1. +5 and -4
2. -2 and -9
3. -10 and -6
4. +7 and -3
5. -12 and +1

B. Review
-ask the pupils what was the previous lesson
(In the previous lesson, we discussed The Set of Integers and the Number
Line)
-ask what is an integer? What is a positive and negative integer in relation
to the number line?
(Integers are composed of positive and negative counting numbers and
zero.)
(Positive integers are numbers greater than zero and are found on the
right side of the number line while negative integers are numbers lesser
than zero and are found on the left side of the number line.)

C. Motivation

team
will be given 2 minutes to get the

Problem: Mrs. Reyes bought fruits that cost ₱700.00 from a wholesaler
and sold them in her fruit’s stand. On Monday, her sales is ₱800.00 and
on Tuesday is ₱500.00. But on Wednesday, she lose ₱400.00 because
some of the fruits are already rotten. Considering the sales of fruits for
three days, did Mrs. Reyes gain or lose profit?

D. Presentation

Considering the sales of Mrs. Reyes on the three days, ask the pupils to
represent the gain and loss using integers. To determine the total sales
means to combine the gains and loss.
 How are we going to combine the gain and loss?
 What is the total sale of the fruits of Mrs. Reyes?
 How can we determine if Mrs. Reyes gained or lost money from
selling her fruits?

(Fable showing)
- Let the pupils watch the short video of a fable. Ask the pupils who are the
animals they have seen in the fable and the moral lesson that we can get.
Then let them choose one and tell something about what you know about
their characteristics. Call pupils to go to the board and differentiate each
animal according to the table below.

Directions: Complete the table below by identifying if the animals have

the following body parts. Answer it by putting a check (/) and X in the table
below. (1 point each)

Body Parts
Animals
Fur Wings Legs Scales Tail
Example: Cat ⁄ x ⁄ x ⁄
Fish
Butterfly
Lizard

Crabs
Crow/uwak

E. Discussion
- Show them the pictures given in the Science 6 Module on page 2. Let
them study and identify the animal based on their characteristics.
- Discuss and explain what is vertebrates and its classification on page 3
to 5 or in the Science textbook on page 93 to 97.
Group Activity:
Let them do the Activity on Let’s Check! on Test A in Science Beyond
Borders Textbook on page 98.

F. Application

-Let them do the Activity on Let’s Check! on Test B in Science Beyond

Borders Textbook on page 98.

G. Generalization
-What is vertebrates?
-What are the classifications of a vertebrates? (ask & call pupils to name
and give examples of each one by one)

IV. EVALUATION
-Let them answer LET’S CHECK! Test C in Science Beyond Borders
Textbook on page 99 (1 to 5 items only) and in the Assessment on
Science 6 Module on page 9 (items 1 to 5).

V. ASSIGNMENT
-Let them copy their assignment on Science 6 Module in What I Can Do
Activity 6: Draw for Learning on page 8.
