Description
1 Introduction
1.1 General
The Illustrated Parts Data (IPD) contains information that identifies spare parts, physical
relationship of parts, and the supplier of the parts. The IPD includes data and illustrations, one
or more, relative to a system, subsystem, or sub-subsystem or an assembly. The items related
to an assembly are organized in IPD figures and supported with the applicable illustrations.
– There are five characters at the top left of the column at the beginning of the parts list.
– The first two characters are numeric and show the figure number.
– The last three characters are an alpha and numeric combination and show the figure
variant.
– A numeric value shows the quantity of the part used for each next higher assembly or
installation.
– "REF" is used on the End Item/Top Assembly of each figure.
– "AR" is for an "as required" quantity of common hardware items with more than 999 parts in
any one application or for when the quantity is not specified until installation (for example,
shims).
The NCAGE column contains the CAGE (Commercial And Government Entity) code reference
of the supplier to the given item.
The part number is the same as the manufacturer’s, supplier’s, or industry standard part number
unless changed as follows:
For example, synthetic part number S702Y0427 is equivalent to overlength part number
S700B0115P4D024A.
The part numbers are listed in the disassembly sequence of the End Item/Top Assembly.
2.6.1 The indenture system in the description column shows the relationship between an End
Item/Top Assembly and its details.
End Item/Top Assembly
2.6.2 Description for part (DFP) has the keyword and additional descriptive information, as applicable,
for the part.
2.6.3 Parts that are sensitive to electrostatic discharge are identified with the abbreviation (ESDS).
2.6.4 Parts that are applicable to a specified position only are identified as follows: LW, RW, LH, RH,
FWD, AFT, UPR, or LWR.
2.6.5 Items with a cross-reference to a next higher assembly are identified with: (Next higher
assembly: XX-XX-XX-XXXXX item XX).
2.6.6 Items with a cross-reference to a detail breakdown are identified with: (Refer to detail(s): XX-
XX-XX-XXXXX item XX).
2.6.7 Items with different details of NHAs that have the same Usable on code assy and are broken
down together are identified with: USED ON PART NUMBER: XXXXXX.
2.6.8 Items that must be used together are identified with: (USED WITH: XXXXXX).
2.6.9 Items that are made from a part are identified with: (M/F: XXXXXX).
2.6.10 Items with a reference to a Component Maintenance Manual/Publication are identified with:
REF CMM: XX-XX-XX or REF CMP: XX-XX-XX.
Table 2 Definitions
Term Parts list abbreviation Definition
– The usable on code assy is an alphabet letter with a preceding asterisk (*A, *B, *C,...)
assigned to an End Item or Top Assembly of each figure. The usable on code assy
identifies the relationship between the End Item/Top Assembly and its details.
– If an IPD has one End Item/Top Assembly, a usable on code assy is not necessary. If there
is more than one End Item/Top Assembly, each End Item/Top Assembly will be assigned a
code. Letters A thru ZZ (except I, O, or a combination of I or O) can be used. If the details
are used only on some End Items/Top Assemblies, they will have the same usable on code
assy as the applicable End Items/Top Assemblies. If the details are used on all of the End
Items/Top Assemblies, there will be no usable on code assy.
Note
Usable on code assy does not show interchangeability.
The list contains tables of the engineering specified part numbers, part names, and their super-
seding or equivalent part numbers. Refer to the Superseding, Equivalent, and Electrical
Equivalent Parts List, 71- 00-01, RDN 1500.
