YouTube is a large online platform where you can find a variety of things, such as educational
and entertaining videos. YouTube is more than just a website or an online application for Grade
12 students especially studying Accountancy, Business, and Management (ABM). It is an
important part of their learning journey because they use it to help with school projects, lessons
and to explore new discoveries, entertainment and gain knowldege.
When ABM students watch videos on YouTube, they often see ads before the actual video
starts. We want to know if these ads influence these students to buy things. Specifically, we're
curious about whether they decide to buy something based on how trustworthy the ad seems,
the quality of what's being advertised, or if the ad is just really good.
Imagine going from watching a video about a school topic to suddenly seeing an ad. We want to
understand how this shift affects their choices—like deciding to buy something because of what
they saw in an ad.
To get the answers, we're going to ask ABM students about their YouTube habits. We'll use
survey via google form to find out what they think about the ads and if it influences what they
buy.
Objectives:
-To understand the Influence of YouTube Ads and find out if ads on YouTube affect Grade 12
ABM students' decisions to buy things.
- To explore whether students decide to buy something based on how trustworthy the ad seems,
the quality of what's being advertised, or if the ad is just really good.
-To investigate the Impact of Ad Exposure and figure out how going from watching educational
or entertainment videos to suddenly seeing an ad on YouTube influences students' choices,
especially in terms of buying things.
- To explore Student YouTube Habits by using survey via google form to learn about ABM
students' habits on YouTube and understand if and how ads affect what they decide to buy.
Contribute Insights for Advertisers:
- To provide useful information that could help companies create better ads for students and
consumers and the future marketers or advertisers from ABM learners considering their unique
mix of learning and shopping on YouTube.
Why conduct this research?
Because ABM learners often use YouTube to look for some reference, tutorial,
entertainment and ideas for their lessons, projects, activities, and daily discoveries. Most of
them always encounter an YouTube Advertisements before proceed to watch the video, we
want to know or investigate whether if or how they influenced by YouTube Advertisements to
purchase the product or services advertised. By focusing on Grade 12 ABM learners, suggests
a specific group that is likely making decisions about future educational paths and career
choices since they are graduating students and are also interested in topics related to money
and business management, making this group particularly relevant for studying the impact of
YouTube advertisements. Knowing how advertisements impact their choices is valuable for
advertisers or future advertisers and marketers from these ABM students to understand how to
promote/advertise their products or services more effectively to attract more buyers and
customers from the viewers of YouTube.
