Project Name: Social Media in Shaping Public Opinion and Behavior

Introduction:

Social media is a project that aims to connect people across the world and share information,

opinions, and experiences. We bring users to the platforms of various social media sites such as

Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube. Our main aim is to explore how social media

influences the public opinion and behavior of the students in Don Carlos M. Mejias Memorial

National High School.

To examine the role of social media in shaping public opinion and behavior.

To analyze the positive and negative effects of social media on different aspects of life such as

politics, culture, health, and education.

To compare and contrast the perspectives of different stakeholders such as social media users,

creators, regulators, and researchers.

To propose recommendations and solutions for improving the quality and impact of social media

on public opinion and behavior..

Purpose:

The project is worth sponsoring for it will explore the impact of social media on public

opinion and behavior. This will also help policymakers, educators, and media practitioners to

understand how social media influences people’s attitudes, values, and actions. The project will
also provide recommendations on how to use social media responsibly and effectively to

promote social goods.

Description:

Attendees will be given free snacks. Leaflets / books will also be available during the

discussion proper.

Topics to be included on the seminar will be:

 Theoretical and conceptual frameworks of public opinion and behavior

 The role of social media in agenda-setting, framing, and priming

 The effects of social media on political knowledge, attitudes, and participation

 The ethical and legal implications of social media use and regulation

Support:

The estimated budget needed for the project is ranging from ₱75,000 to ₱100,000. This

includes the fare, snacks, papers and other related fees. This project is fully sponsored by
