UN Opening Remarks

To our ever smart and supportive institutional head, Sir Siegfred F. Tagupa, to
my co-teachers, distinguished participants, ladies and gentlemen, good morning.

On behalf of Lapero National High School, it is my great honor to welcome you

all to our United Nations Day Celebration. Today, we gather here not only to
commemorate the birth of this extraordinary international organization but also to
reaffirm our commitment to the principles and values that the UN stands for – peace,
cooperation, and the pursuit of a better world for all.

As we raise the United Nations flag today, we are reminded of the global
significance of this organization. For over seven decades, the UN has served as a
beacon of hope and a platform for dialogue among nations, striving tirelessly to
address the most pressing challenges facing humanity.

This year’s theme, “Equality, Freedom, and Justice for All” represents the core
values of an inclusive and fair society. These principles serve as a compass for
building societies that are just, free, and respectful of the rights and dignity of every
individual. It reminds us that while we celebrate the diversity of cultures, traditions,
and perspectives represented here today, we are, indeed, united by a common
purpose: to build a more just, peaceful, and sustainable world.

Let this celebration be a reminder that we are all global citizens, interconnected
and interdependent. So let us come together today, not just as attendees of an event,
but as advocates for peace, champions of sustainability, and ambassadors of hope.

Let us celebrate the UNs’ legacy, honor its work, and renew our dedication to a
world where every voice is heard, and every life is valued. Let us begin this UN Day
celebration with enthusiasm, purpose, and a shared vision for a better world.

Thank you, and once again, good morning.
