METHODOLOGY

This chapter includes the research design, the sample, the instruments, the data
collection procedure, and the plan for data analysis.

Research Design

This study focuses on assessing the effectiveness of turmeric-based highlighter

where the experimental research approach is employed under the quantitative research
design.

Experimental research is the design that will be utilized in this study as it will allow
for a comprehensive investigation on the variables, objectively analyzing relevant data
and drawing valid conclusions. It is a scientific approach to a study that enables the
researchers to systematically manipulate the variables and establish their relationship.

Experimental research design will be implemented as it is the most suitable

approach for the study, considering its appropriateness as a method to fully investigate
the efficacy of the turmeric-based highlighter. This methodology will be employed in order
to gather the necessary information needed to answer the research questions.
Furthermore, this methodology will be utilized to assess the qualities of turmeric based
highlighter that qualify it as a primary ingredient in the development of the stationery
highlighter.

The Sample

The respondents and participants of this study will be the thirty (30) Grade 12
STEM students of Kasiglahan Village Senior High School. The participants will be
selected based on their availability when the survey questionnaires are being employed
and to provide information for the study regarding the topic that is being investigated.

The sample of this study was selected through non-probability/non-random

sumpling wherein the samples are selected on the basis of convenience. Convenience
sampling also known as availability sampling, is the most common type of non-probability
sampling, which focuses on gaining information from participants who are convenient for
the researcher to access.

The Instrument(s)

To execute an effective data collection, this study will employ a survey

questionnaire in acquiring information on the value of the turmeric pigment based
highlighter from the responses of grade 12 STEM students of Kasiglahan Village Senior
High School. The survey questionnaire instrument will be implemented as it is viable in
producing pertinent and precise data conducive to the general success of the data
acquisition period. The researchers will develop their own questionnaire with content
encompassing all aspects of the stated problem, with its specific sections connecting the
collected data to the research questions that the study aims to address.

The researchers will request assistance from teachers of KVSHS STEM faculty to
examine the survey questionnaire for appropriateness and clarity. The questionnaire will
be presented to veteran teachers including the research adviser and other professional
instructors from the said institution. The critical evaluation and recommendations of the
aforementioned validators will be significantly considered on the further refinement of the
study and on the final version of the questionnaire.

Data Gathering Procedure

The researchers will administer survey questionnaires to grade 12 STEM students,

coordinating them into two divided groups with 15 respondents per batch. Demonstration
of the Turmeric pigment-based highlighter will also be performed and organized by the

researchers, with samples of the product being provided for personal testing of the
respondents.

After the administration process, the researchers will interpret and classify the data
collected. The apprehended outcomes will serve as the foundation of the present study
and future researches on the field.

Plan for Data Analysis

Subsequent to the data collection process, the descriptive method will be applied
in explicating pivotal points made from the data obtained. This approach will be utilized
to gather information on the insights of the sample at the course of their usage
experience on the turmeric pigment-based highlighter. To evaluate the qualities of
turmeric ink as a marker, descriptive analysis will be employed, in testing for possible
links between variables leading to meaningful deductions from our results.

Guarantee is offered that all information from the respondents will be considered
with utmost confidentiality so as to ensure the validity and reliability of the research
findings. This study therefore intend to provide an overall perception on the stationery
highlighter derived from turmeric pigment by means of descriptive method in more
knowledge about the subject matter.
