An Advanced Distribution Management System
Project Results
Successful deployment of the DMS Phase 1 (like for like of a
legacy, aging DMS. In addition, successful deployment of the new
operational and support processes. Phase 2 (implementation of
smart Apps) has been approved by PECO’s Management and will
start in Q3/15.
Project Overview
The DMS Project included:
1) Gathering and confirmation of functional, business and
technical requirements
2) Development of the DMS roadmap
3) Data readiness assessment
4) Business processes assessment
5) RFP development
6) Technology selection & System implementation
Lessons Learned
Our Responsibilities
Structure’s responsibilities included: 1) Accurate and complete data is required for a DMS
1) Project Management 2) A DMS needs dedicated staff
2) Development of business case and roadmap 3) Creation of a clear vision and the corresponding roadmap
3) Development of technical requirements for a DMS are key
4) Early identification of affected and new business processes
(including an interface to their legacy OMS)
4) Implementation of the DMS solution, including a DMS and is necessary
the interface to their legacy OMS. 5) Review of legacy OMS within the context of a DMS is key
