X. RATIONALE:

Action Research is an inquiry in the context of focused efforts to improve


the quality of an organization and its performance. It is typically designed and
conducted by practitioners who analyze the data to improve their own practice.
In Education, the aim of action research is to determination ways to enhance
the lives of the learners.
The conduct of School-Based Training Workshop on Action Research for the
teachers of Upper Sepaka Integrated School is primarily to heighten and
enhances the personal and professional practice of teachers. It is believed that
conducting action research has been shown to have positive consequences for
the professional and personal development of the participant, as they learn to
become more proactive and responsible for effecting change. Another thing is to
encourage and assist teachers to conduct an action research as a means of
affecting positive social and educational change in their immediate school
environment.

In the desire to support DepEd’s mandates and to provide assistance to


prospective researchers, this school will conduct a Seminar Workshop on
Action Research on January 30, 2024.

XI. Description of the Project

This seminar-workshop is designed to improving learning outcomes and


supporting teachers to teach better.

XII. Objectives

This seminar workshop aims to:


1. develop the participants’ competency on conducting action research to identify
learner-teacher problems and propose for possible solutions;
2. ensure that all participants are familiar with the provisions of DepEd Order
No. 16, s. 2017; and
3. capacitate the participants on making action research.

XIII. Expected Output

1. Participants will demonstrate an understanding of the action research


process, including defining research questions, collecting and analyzing
data, and interpreting findings;
2. showcase their ability to apply the provisions of the order to practical
scenarios educational context based on the key provisions outlined in
DepEd Order No. 16, s 2017; and
3. apply what have learned in making action research proposal.
