Introduction
The COVID-19 pandemic has defined a new normal. While businesses all over the world
are transforming themselves to adapt to this new normal, the software industry globally is
reaping the benefits of the season due to increased demand for technology. In Nigeria,
companies are starting to look inwards for their software needs leading to an increased
demand and acceptance of indigenous software. We can boldly say that Covid-19 has
opened a floodgate of opportunities for the Nigerian software industry and presented a
gateway to unprecedented growth.

However, with all these opportunities comes the question of quality and the readiness of
Nigeria's home-grown software to compete in the global software market. This question is
underscored by the fact that a good percentage of the software developed by indigenous
developers Nigeria do sometimes pose a huge quality challenge to end users such as the
Federal Government of Nigeria one of the biggest consumers in software in the country.
This explains why government will continue to patronise the well-established global
brands who have tested and proven software.

To get Nigerian softwares to meet global standards of quality, we must institute rigorous
software testing regimes that identify and track the bugs negatively impact on our
software quality, we must fix them and position Nigeria to benefit from the growing
global software market. Thus we can build the required confidence in our homegrown
software that is needed to meet the demand of the industry.

About TestNigeria Conference
It is in view of the foregoing that the
Nigerian Software Testing Qualifications
Board (NGSTQB) has conceived
TestNigeria Conference, the first Software
Testing Conference in Nigeria that is
wholly dedicated to all things software
testing and quality assurance.
Designed as a platform for software
professionals to discuss how the Nigerian
IT ecosystem can start developing quality
software that meets international
standard and help achieve Nigeria's
Digital Economy Strategy, the conference
is targeted at software developers, banks,
government institutions, telcos, fintech
companies, industry regulators and major

The theme of this maiden TestNigeria
2022 is “Impact of Software Quality
Assurance in the Nigerian Digital
Economy”. An array of experts and

place on November 23, 2022 at the

Opening Session: Opening Ceremony
The First TestNigeria Conference with the theme
"Impact of Software Quality Assurance in the
Nigerian Digital Economy" will be declared open by
eminent Nigerians.

Technical Session 1: Test Improvement in Organisations

This session will discuss how organisations can
improve their testing processes so that they have
better impact on Nigerian Digital economy

Technical Session 2: Certified Test Professionals in Organisations

ISTQB Certified Testers bring a lot of value to
organisations. There will be discussions on how
organisations can engage certified Test
Professionals.

Technical Session 3: Growing Software testing Ecosystem in Nigeria's

Educational Sector
This session will discuss the need to grow the
software testing ecosystem across universities in
Nigeria. It will look at how Computer Science
students can get trained in software testing thus
acquiring a skill that can get them into the
workforce right after graduation.

About NGSTQB
Nigerian Software Testing Qualifications Board (NGSTQB) is a member of the
International Software Testing Qualifications Board (ISTQB®); the world's leading
organization for Certification of Professionals in Software Testing. We are also the
local chapter for The TMMi Foundation, the architect and owner of the Test Maturity
Model integration (TMMi) - a detailed and structured model for test process
improvement and, the world standard for same.

In conjunction with the ISTQB®, the NGSTQB is responsible for providing a

consistent trusted accreditation system for the education and training of professional
testers. Our Board develops, adopts and contributes to standards for software testing,
training course development, and professional qualification.

Certification of testing professionals to the values and syllabi developed by ISTQB® is

core to the services NGSTQB provide. We support members from all areas of the
software delivery industry to uplift their skills, competency, knowledge of testing and
instill discipline for quality engineering ways of working.

Through the extensive NGSTQB network, we facilitate collaboration between testing

and quality professionals, learning through events and distribution of trending and
