How’s Cambridge? Are there any interesting people there?

Have you got a job? I love my new summer job in Oxford and now I’ve got a place to live! It’s a room in a house
where some great, English workmates live. The house is big and a bit crazy –there is a fireplace in each room,
even in the bathroom! But It´s a pretty place: there is a sofa, a small table and a big red armchair, but there isn’t
a TV! There are also three big pictures, books and plants everywhere.

The kitchen’s nice too and I love the blue cupboards and shelves. My bedroom is not bad: apart from the bed,
there are some drawers, but there isn’t any other furniture like tables or chairs.

I have to use my mobile all the time because there is no phone in the house. Apart from that, the house is great.

PAINTER’S DAILY ROUTINES

Henry Garcia is an artist from Pasto. He’s married and has two children. He works at home because his
studio is in his house. At 5 a.m. Henry goes to the park and walks for an hour.

When he arrives home, he paints in his studio from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., “I use oil painting because I like its
texture”, says Henry. At 1p.m, He has lunch alone at home. Henry is vegetarian, so he always eats a lot
of vegetables and fruits.

In the afternoon, Henry continues working in his studio until 8p.m. At night, Henry has dinner with his
family and they talk together about their day.

Alejandra Fernandez is an artist from Cartagena. Alejandra is single and lives alone in Cartagena
downtown. She loves going to the beach early in the morning. There, she runs 45 minutes and exercises
for about 40 minutes.

After breakfast, Alejandra rides her motorbike to her studio, which is 40 minutes from her home. “I
make my paintings in watercolor because it is the best to express my feelings”, she says.

She has lunch in a restaurant close to the beach. Alejandra loves sea food, specially fried fish and shrimp.
In the restaurant she meets many friends and they have lunch together.
