Guidance Programme
Course Syllabus

1. Overview:
Mosaik Education supports refugees to access higher education through academic
guidance and skills programmes that are designed with and for the refugee community. Only
5 percent of refugees have access to higher education, compared to 40 percent of youth
globally. Limited access to tertiary education opportunities limits youth’s potential to become
self-reliant, integrate and contribute to their host communities, and help reconstruct their
home country when and if they return.

Through the Guidance Programme, Mosaik provides workshops in partnership with local
stakeholders and facilitators from local communities to equip youth with the skills and
resources they need to search for and apply to tertiary education opportunities. Through
online and in-person workshops, the programme has been offered to more than 1000
participants in Jordan, Lebanon and Turkey. 36% and more of those who successfully
completed the programme have been able to access higher education opportunities and
gain acceptance in.

2. General description of the workshop:

This workshop will guide students through the process of applying for a higher
education opportunity. They will initially explore themselves and which study paths may suit
them. Then they will learn how to analyze opportunities to see if they are right for them and
know the exact requirements of each one. Then, they will learn how to write and practise the
different elements of the application, such as the CV, motivation letter, and application
essay, knowing that each opportunity requires different documents and not all elements will
be required for each application. By the end of the program, Students will have completed
writing one of each type of document, so they will be prepared no matter what opportunity
they apply for!

The program covers seven topics, and a workshop session will be held on each topic
with the facilitator(s). After each session, you can access "Takeaways", which are documents
and worksheets for you to download, containing the most important information from the
session, which you can modify by adding your thoughts as you work through and after the
program. These topics are (in order): Introduction, Self, Opportunities, Resume, Motivation
Letter, Interview, and Other Types of Writing.
 ● Session 1: Introduction: Students will learn how the programme works and how to
get the best out of it. They will have very important homework at the end to prepare
for the next session.
● Session 2: Self: In this session, students will explore what excites them, motivates
them, what they’re good at and what they are likely to succeed in. They explore
possible study pathways and talk about making decisions. They will write a
description of themselves that they will rely on for later tasks and self-reflection.
● Session 3: Opportunities: This session looks at how students read opportunities,
how to find them and what information to check. They will learn how to analyse an
opportunity to see if it’s right for them. They will choose an opportunity to apply for
and will describe it. They will need this description for later tasks.
● Session 4: CV: In this session, students will analyse a CV, write their profile and
create their CV. They will find out how to fill or justify gaps in their experience.
● Session 5: Motivation Letter: In this session, students will analyse a motivation
letter, learn best practices and write their motivation letter. They will build a checklist
to be able to adapt their motivation letter for new opportunities.
● Session 6: Interview: Students will analyse a video interview, practice sections of an
interview and learn to prepare and practise effectively with a friend after the
programme ends.
● Session 7: Other Writing: In the final session, students will look at application
essays and student profiles. They will get a chance to talk about any feedback
they’ve had from the facilitator as well as ask any final questions they have before
the programme finishes.

3. Learning Outcomes:
By the end of the programme, you will be able to:

9. Access the support of a network of peers during the application process beyond the
end of the programme

10. Built confidence in all learned skills, and combine an application pack, including items
to be written (CV etc.) and items to be gathered (certificates, letters of
recommendation etc.) to be used and adjusted to apply for any tertiary education
opportunity.

4. Learning environment
Participants will be added to a WhatsApp group with a group of young people who
share the goal of accessing higher education. The facilitator will run the weekly mandatory
sessions, share additional resources, tasks and assignments, and answer questions through
the WhatsApp group.

Participants can access the content of the weekly sessions through the Moodle
platform, which is an educational platform used in various educational institutions, including
universities. Mosaik provides each participant with their own account, which they can access
via the website link or through the mobile application. These sessions are held in person in a
computer lab and \or online via Zoom to make them accessible to all participants.

5. Certificate and recommendation letter

Participants who complete the required prerequisites will receive a certificate of
attendance and a letter of recommendation that can support their applications to universities
and scholarship programs. Requirements for obtaining the certificate and recommendation
letter:

● Attending mandatory sessions

● Complete and deliver the required assignments (CV, motivation letter, and
trial interview)
● Fill in the final feedback form

‫سترشدك هذه الدورة القصيرة على عملية التقدّم للحصول على فرصة تعليم عالي‪ .‬سنستكشف في البداية أنفسنا‬
‫ومسارات الدراسة التي قد تكون مناسبة لنا‪ .‬وبعد ذلك ستتعلّم كيفية تحليل الفرص لمعرفة ما إذا كانت مناسبة لك ومعرفة‬

‫طلب‪ .‬وفي نهاية البرنامج‪ ،‬ستكون قد أكملت كتابة مستند من كل نوع من المستندات‪ ،‬وبذلك ستكون مستعدًا بغض النظر‬
‫عن الفرصة التي تتقدّم للحصول عليها!‬

‫يتناول البرنامج سبعة مواضيع‪ ،‬وستُعقد ورشة عمل حول كل موضوع مع الميسّر‪/‬الميسّرين‪ .‬وبعد كل جلسة ستتمكن من‬
‫الحصول على "أهم المستندات"‪ ،‬وهي مستندات وأوراق عمل موجزة تحتوي على أهم المعلومات من الجلسة‪ ،‬والتي‬
‫يمكنك تعديلها بإضافة أفكارك الخاصة أثناء تمرنّك خالل البرنامج وبعده‪ .‬هذه الموضيع هي (بالترتيب)‪ :‬المقدمة‪ ،‬الذات‪،‬‬
‫الفرص‪ ،‬السيرة الذاتية‪ ،‬خطاب الدافع‪ ،‬المقابلة‪ ،‬أنوع أخرى من الكتابة‪.‬‬

‫● الدرس الثالث‪ :‬الفرص‪ :‬ستتعلم في هذا الدرس كيفية قراءة الفرص وكيفية العثور عليها والمعلومات التي يجب‬
‫التحقق منها‪ .‬سوف تتعلم أيضا ً كيفية تحليل فرصة لمعرفة ما إذا كانت مناسبة لك‪ .‬سوف تختار فرصة للتقدم لها‬
‫وسوف تقوم انت بكتابة وصفها‪ .‬ستحتاج إلى هذا الوصف للمهام الالحقة‪.‬‬
 ‫● الدرس الرابع‪ :‬السيرة الذاتية‪ :‬في هذا الدرس ستقوم بتحليل سيرتك الذاتية ‪ ،‬وكتابة ملفك الشخصي وإنشاء‬
‫سيرتك الذاتية ‪ ،‬وسوف تتعلم كيفية ملء أو تبرير الفجوات في خبرتك‬
‫● الدرس الخامس‪ :‬رسالة الدافع‪ :‬في هذا الدرس سوف تقوم بتحليل رسالة دافع سنعرضها عليك‪ ،‬وستتعلم أفضل‬
‫الممارسات لكتابتها‪ ،‬ثم ستقوم بكتابة رسالة الدافع الخاصة بك‪ .‬ستقوم أيضا ً ببناء قائمة مرجعية لتكون ً‬
‫قادرا‬
‫على تكييف رسالة الدافع الخاص بك للفرص الجديدة‪.‬‬
‫● الدرس السادس‪ :‬المقابالت‪ :‬هنا ستقوم بمشاهدة وتحليل فيديو إلحدى المقابالت‪ ،‬ثم ستختبر أقسام المقابلة وتتعلم‬
‫كيف تتدرب بفعالية مع أحد أصدقاءك بعد انتهاء البرنامج‪.‬‬
‫● الدرس السابع‪ :‬أنواع أخرى من الكتابة‪ :‬في الدرس األخير ستلقي نظرة على مقاالت الطلبات وملفات تعريف‬
‫الطالب‪ .‬ستتاح لك الفرصة للتحدث عن أي تعليقات استلمتها من الميسر باإلضافة إلى طرح أي أسئلة أخيرة‬
‫لديك قبل انتهاء البرنامج‪.‬‬

‫‪ .3‬بيئة التعلم‬
‫سوف يتم اضافة المشاركين إلى مجموعة واتساب مع مجموعة من الشباب والشابات الذين يشاركونهم هدف الوصول‬
‫إلى التعليم العالي‪ .‬سوف يدير الميسر الجلسات اإللزامية كل أسبوع‪ ،‬باإلضافة إلى مشاركة مصادر إضافية‪ ،‬مهام‬
‫وواجبات‪ ،‬واإلجابة على األسئلة من خالل مجموعة الواتساب‪.‬‬

‫يستطيع المشاركون الوصول إلى محتوى الجلسات األسبوعية من خالل موقع مودل ‪ ،Moodle‬وهي منصة تعليمية‬
‫تستخدم في المؤسسات التعليمة المختلفة بما فيها الجامعات‪ .‬موزاييك توفر لكل مشارك حسابه الخاص الذي يمكنه‬
‫الوصول له عبر رابط الموقع أو من خالل تطبيق الهاتف‪.‬‬

‫‪ .4‬الشهادة ورسالة التوصية‬

‫سيحصل المشاركون الذين يكملون المهام األساسية المطلوبة على شهادة حضور ورسالة توصية يمكنها دعم طلبات‬
‫انتسابهم للجامعات وبرامج المنح الدراسية‪ .‬من شروط الحصول على الشهادة ورسالة التوصية‪:‬‬
