I. Background of the Study

The purpose of our study in school is to acquire knowledge and skills

that will empower to achieve our personal and professional goals. Education

is the foundation upon which success is built, and by immersing in a

structured learning environment, we can gain the tools necessary to

navigate the complexities to the modern world. Whether it is developing

critical thinking abilities, honing our communication skills, or cultivating a

deep understanding a various subjects, our purpose in studying is to

become a well-rounded individual capable of making positive impact on

society.

Further, studying in school allows us to explore our interests and

passions. It provides a platform for us to delve into different subjects and

discover what truly ignites our curiosity. We can uncover my strengths,

weaknesses, and areas where we excel. This process not only helps shapes

our future career path but also enables us to pursue areas of study that

align with our personal values and interests.

Modular learning has presented both advantages and disadvantages

for Grade 10 students. On the other hand, it offers flexibility in terms of

pacing and scheduling, enabling students to work at their own pace and

manage their time more efficiently. This freedom to empower students to

take greater ownership of their education and potentially enhance their

performance.

However, the absence of face-to-face interaction with teachers has had

a notable impact on Grade 10 students and take note not only the Grade 10

students. In face-to-face learning environments, students have immediate

access to teachers for clarification and guidance. The shift to modular

learning has limited this direct interaction, make it more challenging for

students to seek immediate assistance and hindering their academic

performance.

Collaborative learning, a vital aspect of face-to-face education, has

also been affected by the transition to modular learning. Some students are

now deprived of the opportunity to engage in group discussions, peer-to-

peer learning, and cooperative problem-solving activities. This lack of

interaction can negatively impact their comprehension and hinder the

development of important social and teamwork skills.

Furthermore, the transition to modular learning has brought about

changes in the assessment methods employed. Traditional face-to-face

assessments, such as in-class tests and examinations, have been replaced

with alternative modes of evaluation, including online assessments and

project-based tasks. Grade 10 students may need time to adapt to these new

assessment formats, potentially impacting their performance during the

transition period.

The factors affecting student performance in mathematics are

student-related factors such as interest and study habits, and teacher

related factors which includes personality traits, teaching skills and

instructional materials.

Several factors such as learner’s interest, lack of qualified

teachers, improper curricula and school environment are responsible for the

poor achievement in the mathematics by the students.

II.Statement of the Problem

 This mini research will help the researcher determine the performance

of G10 cleanliness students in Mathematics at Munguia National High

School for the quarter of SY 2022-2023.

II. Significance of the Study

 The researcher may be able to identify students who need support and

intervention in this subject. This will reveal whether or not the

students in G10 class are having difficulty.

Therefore,10%

V. Evaluation

Depending on the ratio presented, 10% of the Grade 10 cleanliness got

a low mastery of performance in Mathematics . It means to say, that
mostly of Grade 10 Cleanliness could cope up with the lesson.

VI. Conclusions and Recommendations

I conclude that the Grade 10 Cleanliness have had a high mastery

performance in Mathematics. 10% only could not cope up with the lesson. I

highly recommended that the 10% failing students should have a remedial

regarding the lesson on the third quarter. It should be done during their

vacant period or during Saturdays if their parents will agree. There should

be teacher student relationship to garner the 100% mastery

performance in Mathematis.
