UNIT 7: THE STORY TELLER

Lesson 1 – Period 1

1. OBJECTIVES:
By the end of the lesson, students will be able to:
1.1. Knowledge:
- remember, recognize and describe the words audience, candles, mask,
lute, actor, wig, costume, tights.
- understand and identify main ideas in a conversation related to the topic
story teller.
1.2. Competences:
- Self-control and independent learning: perform speaking, listening tasks.
- Communication and collaboration: work in pairs or groups.
- Sociability: talk to each other, say good words to others.
1.3. Attitude/ Qualities:
- Kindness: Help partners to complete learning tasks.
- Honesty: tell the truth about feelings and emotions
2. TEACHING AIDS:
- Teacher: audio Tracks 30, 31, laptop, powerpoint, TV or projector.
- Students: Super mind students book p.82, notebooks, workbooks, school
things.

1. Warm-up: (5’)
Game: Who is he?
*Aims: to create a friendly and active atmosphere in the
class to beginning the lesson.
*Procedure:
- T divides class into 3 Teams (1, 2 and 3)
- T shows the portrait of Shakespeare on the slide for Ss to - Ss listen
guess who he is. 1 pupil of each team stands up and -Ss play game
guesses the names of him. (If ss don’t have correct answer,
T suggests by giving Shakespeare’s works – Romeo and
Juliet)
- The first team guess exactly will have star. (If ss can’t
give the expected answer, T introduces to ss)
- Ask ss to open their book page 82.
- T introduces general information about Shakespeare:

2. Presentation (10’)
Activity 1. Vocabulary
*Aims: Ss will be able to remember and recognize the
vocabulary in the lesson.
*Procedure:
- T shows pictures, ask them to guess new words by giving
suggesstion (eg: audience: What are they doing?
Watching- How we can call them? – Audience… do the
same with other words)
- candles: blow candles – birthday -Ss guess the
- mask:hide face after mask new words by

- actor: s.o who pretends to be someone else while
performing in a film, play, or television,…
- wig: not the real hair, short->long
- costume: clothes that actor wear in order to look like
someone or something else. - Ss look, listen

- Play pronunciation of each word, have the whole class
read in whole class/groups/individually (Flexible depend
on the difficult of each word)
- Show a slide containing all the new words given.
- Show the picture in the book and ask them to say the - Ss say the
word in each characters 1 – 8. words
3. Practice: (8’)
- Checking vocab:
Game: T shows 1 picture/ 1word, students have to choose - Ss play game.
the suitable word/ picture in the answer abcd, the group
with the most points will win and receive a star.

Activity 2. Read, listen and complete the sentences.


*Aims: Ss will be able to catch keywords and fill in the
blank.
*Procedure:
- Have Ss read all sentences in Activity 2 and identify
word types (N, V, Adj), underline keywords. - Ss do the task
- Play the audio once.
- Have Ss to write the answer.
- Ask them if they need to hear the second time.
- T invites ss to answer
- Play the audio the last time and stop at the answers.
- Give star for the groups whose members answer - Ss answer
correctly.
4, Production: (7’)
Activity 3: Choose a word. Describe it for your partner
to guess.
*Aims: Ss will be able to describe the word by saying or
acting
*Procedure:
- T invite 1 ss in each team to come to the board, stand
opposiste with their friend. T gives them one word. They
have to describe – by saying or acting, not saying the
word) in order to have the correct answer from their friend - Ss play game.
till the word is guessed correctly.
- Give star for to win team.
- T gives homewordk (WB p.82)

Chị Nhi ơi, em có một số thắc mắc nhờ chị hỗ trợ và giải đáp cho em với ạ…
- Chị ơi, như các lớp học vocab các bạn hs có ghi từ vào vở không ạ để tới giờ
chúng em nhắc hs luôn ạ?
- Ở phần dạy vocab, em định cho những ảnh ở ngoài sách để giới thiệu và cho
các bạn khám phá, xong đến cuối phần vocab em mới cho ảnh có đánh số trong
sách để cb đọc lại 1 lần nữa, vì sợ các bạn xem luôn ảnh và các từ trong sách sẽ
hơi bị động, chị thấy như thế có hợp lí không hay mình khai thác luôn bức tranh
trong sách ạ (vì em thấy tranh cũng hay và kết nối với bài 2 ạ)
- Ở bài 2 cho nghe audio và điền từ HS có được điền luôn vào sách không ạ chị?
Bài nghe này em nghe qua thì chỉ đơn giản là điền thông tin trong đoạn hội thoại
vào chỗ trống. Phía trên em có hướng dẫn là cho hs xác định các từ loại có thể
điền vào thì có hợp lí không ạ và với các bạn yếu thì mình hướng dẫn thêm như
thế nào mà không quá lộ ạ? hihi
Với cả trong giáo án còn chỗ nào chưa hợp lí hay chưa tốt rất mong nhờ chị Nhi
góp ý và chỉnh thêm cho em với ạ. Em cảm ơn chị nhiều ạ!!!
