What work did your group do in order to explore the

stimuli and start to create ideas for performance?

One way that my group practically acted out our ideas is

when we began to plot our characters and the props
and settings needed to produce a scene and a theme
(extra note*: we used chairs originally for levels and
tables for a setting inside a house). Another way my
group started to explore the physical side of our play
was by experimenting with different types of physical
theatre was using silent acting, more precisely miming
and movement between scenes. During our 1st set of
rehearsals, we began to develop a storyline that was
heavily based off the setting of picture and stim 1 in the
booklet as we found it the easiest and most comfortable
to work off of as we already had a general setting and
cold tone to the play. Discarded later in the process, our
‘split of chairs for the tunnels’ didn’t end up working as
it ended up becoming too complicated and we thought
it was better not to involve it. My character
development took place as we started to change up the
plot and the characters which overall lead to my double
character of both a farmer and an interviewer and this
change of ideas helped us realise how the multi-rolling
would occur. (Extra note*: we adapted our ideas to
make them clearer though in the end, the execution of
our plot wasn’t carried out well). Finally, the lessons on
physical theatre gave us the ideas of split scenes and
freeze frames.
