FIRE RESISTANCE FURNACE

TEST AND HOSE STREAM TEST

One Window Service For Your Every HSE Need

Fire Resistance Furnace Test
HOW IT IS PERFORMED ?
 Door assembly is mounted in a vertical or horizontal frame
which is placed against an open wall furnace or on top of an
open ceiling furnace and is exposed to the standard fire.
 The temperature inside the furnace to which the fire
door assembly is exposed during the fire test is controlled to
conform to the standard temperature-time curve.
WHAT IS MEASURED ?
1) HEAT TRANSMISSION:
 Heat transmission is measured with thermocouples attached
to the unexposed side of the assembly to evaluate If a
temperature rise is high enough to ignite common
combustibles on the side not exposed to the fire.

Fire Resistance Furnace Test
2) INTEGRITY:
 The integrity of an assembly is maintained as long as there
is no passage of flames and gases hot enough to ignite cotton
waste on the unexposed side.

Hose Stream Test
HOW IT IS PERFORMED ?
 Within the 2 minutes immediately following the fire test, the
fire-exposed side of the fire door assembly is subjected to hose
stream test.
 Pressurized water by using hose(s) is sprayed on the fire
exposed side of the door surface for a specified time duration.
 Hose stream test shall not be required to perform usually for
20-minute fire protection–rated fire door assemblies.
WHY IT IS PERFORMED ?
 To measure the impact, erosion, and cooling effects of a
standard hose stream on the fire exposed surface of the door.
 The water pressure and duration of application shall be as
specified in below table.
