Present Perfect Tense

Present perfect is a verb tense. We use this tense for two (2) reasons:
1. It can show a finished action but it doesn’t show when this action took
place. For example: I have been to the Philippines. So guys as you
can see, it showed that s/he has been to the Philippines, but it
doesn’t actually show when.

2. The present perfect tense can also show a continuing action. It shows
an action that started in the past and continues to the present. This
action might continue into the future too. For example: I have lived in
Manila for 2 years.

The present perfect is formed with the auxiliary verb “have” and the “past
participle” form of the main verb.
 Have + Past Participle

“Have” changes forms depending on the subject.

 Subject + Have/Has + Verb with Past Participle

So, when do we use have and has?

 “Has” is used with singular subjects and with the pronouns he, she,
and it. While, “have” is used with plural subjects and with the
pronouns I, you, we, and they.

Examples:
 I have graduated.  We have graduated.
 You have graduated.  They have graduated.
 He has graduated.  The student has graduated.
 She has graduated.  The students have graduated.

Now guys, can anyone make a present perfect tense on the board.
Example:
Reason 1: It can show a finished action but it doesn’t show when this action
took place.
 I have finished my homework.
subject + have/has + verb with past participle

Reason 2: The present perfect tense can also show a continuing action. It
shows an action that started in the past and continues to the present. This
action might continue into the future too. For example: I have lived in Manila
for 2 years.
 She has worked at the office for 12 years. (Reason 2)
subject + have/has + verb with past participle
