Adjust - Unit injectors, diesel. Adjusting the opening pressure

1.Measure the shim thickness on the unit injector using a calibrated micrometer, and note the value.

2.Adjust the opening pressure of the unit injector by using shims. See the calculation example below.

On injectors (1 943 972 and 1 943 974) of DL5 and DL6 engines:

Recommended opening 290 (+/- 5) bar

pressure:

Measured opening 282 bar

pressure:

Difference: 8 bar = 0.04 mm

Measured shim: 1.10 mm

New shim: 1.14 mm

On injectors of other truck and bus engines:

Recommended opening 283 (+/- 5) bar
pressure:

Measured opening 275 bar

pressure:

Difference: 8 bar = 0.04 mm

Measured shim: 1.10 mm

New shim: 1.14 mm

On injectors of industrial and marine engines:

Recommended opening 324 (+/- 5) bar

pressure:

Measured opening 276 bar

pressure:

Difference: 8 bar = 0.04 mm

Measured shim: 1.10 mm

New shim: 1.14 mm

3.Check the opening pressure after adjustment.
