DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION
Region IX, Zamboanga Peninsula
Division of Zamboanga Sibugay
IMELDA NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL
Poblacion, Imelda, Zamboanga Sibugay
I. OBJECTIVES
A. Content Standards The learner demonstrates an understanding of concepts and principles in
setting up computer networks.
B. Performance Standards The learner should be able to set up computer networks based on
stablished procedures and system requirements for hardware.
C. Learning Competencies / Install network cables TLE_IACSS9-12SUCN-IVa-j-33
Learning Objectives L3: Install network cables based on established procedures and system requirements
for hardware.
L2: Explain the procedure for installing network cables.
L1: Identify network cables
1. Color Quiz!
- Identify the color not the word by saying “It's (the color), not (the name)”
Example: It's Green, not yellow
Green Yellow Blue
Red Violet Orange
White Brown
2. Ask the learners to give the right color for each color name.
Guide Questions:
1. What are the concepts (CSS) that comes into your mind when talking about
colors?
2. What are the basic colors of cables?
3. How will you verify the color code?
B. Establishing a purpose for Show a video clip on How Data Travels through the Network cable
the lesson https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FxrtmwpKd4U
ACTIVITY: "DATA TRAVEL THROUGH THE NETWORK CABLE"
1. What are the interesting facts you have learned from the video clip?
2. What is the fundamental purpose of network cables in data transmission?
3. Can you provide examples of real-world applications or scenarios where
understanding how data travels through network cables is crucial?
Each group will be given a task card. They will need to complete this activity within 5
minutes. A digital timer will be included in the presentation to help students keep track
on their time. Present the rubrics before activating the timer.
(Attached is the differentiated activities for each group together with the rubrics)
G. Finding practical What do you think is the importance of installing network cables?
applications of concepts
Is learning on how to install network cables worth it? Can you use it in your daily lives
as Grade 11 students? Why and why not?
H. Making generalizations Teacher will ask, “What are the key considerations and steps involved in installing
and abstractions about the network cables?”
lesson
