 INTRODUCTION

Despite the fact that it is true Jesus Christ is the key figure in all of God’s plan, the Holy Spirit

himself focuses our attention to Jesus and seeks to glorify Him. (John 15:26, 16:14).

Many people have gone ahead to suppose that the Holy Spirit is to be completely and ever ignored

in the bible or that he is ever to be as some vague influence, external force impressible energy.

Who is the Holy Spirit?

The Holy Spirit is the third person of the trinity. It means that the Holy Spirit is God, co-equal with

God the Father and the son. The Holy Spirit is a person, and as so, he has feelings, he gets sad and

angry. the Holy Spirit possesses emotions, intellect and will.

The place of the Holy Spirit in the church today

He helps us in our weaknesses and intercedes for us (Romans 8:26)

The Holy Spirit serves as God’s divine administrator on earth

The Holy Spirit is a helper. (John14:26) “but the helper, the Holy Spirit whom the father will send

in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have send to

you.”

Holy Spirit is seal in the lives of believers (Ephesians 1:13)

He makes known the presence of Jesus Christ in our lives. (John 15:26, John 16:14, Acts 5:32)

The Holy Spirit makes us more like Jesus Christ (Galatians 5:16-25)

The Holy Spirit helps us understand the scripture. The Holy Spirit is the source of revelation,

wisdom and power. (Acts 1:8,1st Corinthians 2:10)

The work of the Holy Spirit

He is a comforter/advocate/helper. The Holy Spirit is the helper who teaches and reminds us that

we have leant

Teachers/guide. He is a guider, He guides us to all truth including knowledge of what is to come.

He gives spiritual gifts. (1st Corinthians 12:7-11)

The Holy Spirit makes believers new and gives them eternal life. (Roman 8:10-11)

The Holy Spirit unites the believers with Christ in his death enabling them to live victoriously over

sin.

Bible verses that refers to the Holy Spirit

(Acts 1:8) “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you, and you will be my

witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”

(John 14:26) “But the advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach

you all things and we remind you of everything I have said to you.”

(Luke 3:22) “And the Holy Spirit descends on Him in bodily form like a dove. And a voice came

from heaven “you are my son, Whom I love with whom I am well pleased”

(Romans 8:26) “In the same way, the Spirit help us in our weaknesses. We do know what we ought

to pray for, but the spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans.”

Why should the believer receive the Holy Spirit?

One of the reasons the Holy Spirit comes is to give power and boldness to be the witness of Jesus

He powers us to be witnesses of Jesus Christ.

He makes us able to worship God

True worship is supernatural so it can only be accompanied by the help of the Holy Spirit.

(John 4:23)

The Holy Spirit anoints us to do our purpose

The process of being filled with the Holy Spirit

There is no place in scriptures where you told to pray for the filling of the Holy Spirit you are filled

by faith. However, since the object of your faith is God and his word.

I suggest that you pray to him claiming the fullness of the spirit as an expression of your faith in

Gods commands and his promise (Internet, https://www.cpcrci.org).

 Conclusion

Spirit calling is dedicated to helping us recapture the power of the Holy Spirit which is given to

us as a parting gift from Jesus Christ

The Holy Spirit is very real power and part of the essence of God swells with us. So let the Holy

Spirit guide and comfort you through difficult times because nothing is closer to you than the spirit

of God.
