Overview
Vodacom Mozambique is a Mozambican company that started its operation in
Mozambique in December 2003 and has as main objective to offer a high quality, reliable
mobile network and through new communication technologies bring everything good to
Mozambique.
Determined to always offer the best service and focused on the issues of society,
Vodacom has been developing important social responsibility actions in the most diverse
areas, highlighting the rehabilitation and construction of schools, the installation of
computer rooms and the distribution of books and school supplies in various schools
throughout the country.

2. TMCEL (Moçambique Telecom SA)

Overview
TMCEL was born in January 2019 from the merger of the companies Telecomunicações
de Moçambique (TDM) and Mozambique Cellular (Mcel), following a decision taken by
the cabinet in 2016. With the decision, the Government intended to save the two state
companies that were on the verge of bankruptcy due to lack of sustainability and high
debts. Mission
Satisfy the digitalization and communication needs of the business and the customer, with
quality and with competitive and accessible solutions, which ensure a sustainable return
to shareholders.

Lead the digital transformation in Mozambique, providing technologically advanced

Fixed Solutions
- In terms of Internet access, solutions such as the Broadband Service, SIP Trunk, the
Dedicated Internet Service and Leased Circuit for national and Interland customers.
These services, products and solutions cover the Residential, NGO, Small and
Medium Enterprises and Large Enterprises segments.
- Tmcel offer the traditional Voice service, in two modalities, Post-Paid and Pre-Paid,
and for Post-Paid, there is a traditional fixed line, the ISDN, which ends up being a
voice and data conveyor, and the Normal SIP. In the Prepaid modality, Tmcel have
the lines of the traditional fixed service,…and the Telencontro service, which is the
Audio Conference service.

- Brand meaning
o Movitel means "movement" and "telecom", which is a telecommunications
company that is always moving, forward and driving all Mozmbique people
towards a bright future.
- Logo
o The orange logo consists of the first letter of the company name "M" and the 5
sun rays spreading out over the horizon. The sun's rays come from the image
of the rising sun on the emblem of Mozambique. They can be interpreted as
telecommunication antennas spreading like sunlight across Mozambique.
o The image of the sun's rays is consistent with the determination of the Movitel
brand because the sun is the image that represents a bright tomorrow, a
tomorrow for everyone in Mozambique.
o The “M” symbol is highlighted in the logo, because it can be interpreted as the
first letter of the name of the country - Mozambique - or of the company name
- Movitel. The logo has a strong and organized font expressing the style of a
stable and trustworthy company.
o Movitel's main color is orange. This choice was inspired by the works of the
artist Pancho Guedes, who created significant architectural monuments as well
as Mozambican art projects. Orange means "vibrant", "contrasting" and
"Optimistic" - it brings the feeling of warmth just like the sun and familiarity
with mother earth.
