SYSTEM IMPLEMENTATION

4.1 IMPLEMENTATION

Systems Implementation is after the construction of the new system and the

delivery of that system into production process. System implementation addresses

input data, process and interfaces primarily. Implementation is to enable the users

and operators know what to do. It may include user training, file conversion,

database creation, software installation and supervision.

4.2. SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS

The system requirement involves the hardware and software requirements for the

successful utilization of the system.

4.2.1 HARDWARE REQUIREMENTS

Processor : Intel Pentium3 or above

RAM : 1GB and above

Hard disk : 320GB

4.2. 2 SOFTWARE REQUIREMENTS

1
Front end : CSS

Back end : SQL Server 2008

Tools : PHP

Language : PHP

Operating System : Windows 7 and above

4.2.3 OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENT

For the new system to be operational, Microsoft Access is needed in the
computer.
4.2.4 PERSONNEL REQUIREMENT: A computer system with access on it.

4.3 INSTALLATION OF THE SYSTEM

Installation is basically a practical which ensures that program is compatible with

the windows operating system, without proper installation, the program might

generate some errors.

The procedure of installing this system is as following:

Since it is a web application it doesn’t require any installations, but if you want to

host the website you need to buy a domain name and upload all your file content

using FileZilla Client (FTP) to the web server provide by your ISP.

4.5 SYSTEM TESTING

4
The aim of testing is to locate any bugs that may be found in the system so as to

get them fixed. By doing this, the extent of the software’s reliability can be

determined. In the development of this program, testing was done continuously at

every stage.

4.5.1 TRAINING OF OPERATOR

The user intending to make use of this system for any administrative use

must have the basic computer knowledge that is must be a computer literate.

Afterwards, the user may read through the documentation of the system design and

understand the flowchart of the various components in the system to understand its

working and principles before attempting to make use of it. In the absence of any

documentation, the users may be educated on the workings of the System by

anyone with knowledge of the operating procedures.

Changeover Method: Once the system has been tested and proved to be working

satisfactorily and the staff ready to use it, the real life running of the system can

commence. System changeover refers to the way the new system is adopted by

converting from the old one. In this case, it is manual to automated conversion.

The phase method is suggested in the changeover method in which the conversion

process is broken down into sections. Each section is installed. This can be

5
controlled gradually and provide time for users and staff to adjust to the new

system.

System Documentation: For the sake of further development by other

programmers or for the sake of possible forgetfulness, documentation on the

program’s use, code structure and variables is done to speed up further

development either by the initial programmer or by another programmer wanting

to make use of the program’s code. The documentation of the code is written in

detail in this project for use by developers wishing to make modifications to the

program or fix bugs that may be discovered upon further implementation of the

system.

4.5.2 SYSTEM MAINTENANCE

The developer of the software or system should be able to carry out maintenance

on the system using several utility programs. Again, if the developer was hired to

developed the system, selected staff should be trained by the developer of the

system

CHAPTER FIVE
SUMMARY, CONCLUSION AND RECOMMENDATIONS
5.1 Summary
The use of computer based admission system forms the basis of the school
management decision. It aims at providing the management with adequate,
effective, well documented up-to-date and formatted output. To help as a tool in
planning and decision making/based on the students admissionsystem.
The lack of learner outcome variation of the system signals the
establishment of concurrency between the two measures even though they are
measures of same construct. This investigation supports the use the system
delivery structure to broaden the instruction audience in technology education
program.
The use of students admissionsystem in technology education at higher
institutions remain at the minimal level as suggested by the 80 percent of the
student participant, predominantly technology education measures who report that
they have not done computer base system application previously. Also 75 percent
of student participant report that they have not used computer software base
application system previously. Having come to completion of this project work a
lot of achievement was made and they include;
1. The replacement of error prone manual system with new automated student
application system.
2. Data can now be processed with great speed and efficiency.
3.Ability to update record in various files automatically thereby relieving the
college staff the stress from working from file to file.
4. The security of data is ensured.
5. The use of database was implemented.

7
5.2 Conclusion
Research and development are continuous processes; this is same in
computer and software development. However the effectiveness and efficiency of
this new system provide room for further improvement. As early mentioned some
of the objectives of this project were not actualized due to some limitation. So this
objectives could be improved upon, the outline admissionsystem developed will
offer greater opportunity in school management. All records with regards to
student’s application can be carried out on the computer.
5.3 Recommendation
The research work carried out is limited to students admission systemonly. It
would be better if a full portal is developed for effective and wholesome of
information management technology in our higher institutions. When this is done
the following modules are recommended to include in the portal.
1. Developing an online student’s admission system to enable full tracking of
student records.
2. Automation of student academic record to enable the management to have
access to bulk student details.
3. Maintaining a central database for accessing information relating to student.
