MAT 535 – ECOLOGY OF FILIPINO FAMILY

DUENA, JEAN S. DR. SOCORRO BULIC

MTE December 9, 2023

REFLECTIONS:
1.
This picture depicts poverty and homelessness. It shows lack
of effective support from our government. It is a reminder
that our country failed to make a system that will help them
live a decent life. It shows that the government failed to help
them to elevate their status of living by providing them
assistance and livelihood projects. It shows struggle and
depressive situations where children lack food, shelter and
affection from their family and the society. It also shows that
our country is still suffering and that something is wrong with
our society.

It encourages an understanding that individual preferences

2. varies and not everyone will resonate with your personality,
values, or choices.

This statement shows liberation from the need for constant

validation. It highlights the importance of connection with
those people who appreciate you and support you for who
you are. It also shows that not all can provide you
unconditional love, however there is always one person who’s
willing to love you no matter what.

3.
It is a coping mechanism that many uses hoping that
laughter can somehow alleviate the weight of
emotional distress. This act is a manifestation how
people use humor as a shield and to release internal
struggles.

This coping strategy suggests that humor can serve as

a disguise for vulnerability. It also shows how
powerful humor can be as a tool for connection and
healing. Laughter may momentarily distract from the
hurt, it also serves as a communal language, allowing
people to share their struggles in different form.
4. Reminding people of their worth is powerful and often
underestimated act. In a world where people may face
constant challenges and self-doubt, a simple gesture or kind
word can mean a lot to them. It only shows that small acts of
encouragement and affirmation can help someone’s
emotional being.

By consistently reminding people of their worth, you

contribute to fostering a positive and supportive environment.
This practice not only uplifts others but also creates a ripple
effect, inspiring a self-value. Always remember that positive
change doesn’t always require grand gestures. Continue
making a small act of kindness to others.

5. Always remember that we are all unique individuals. It

shows that we are diverse from each other.

This quote emphasizes that every individual is a mixture

of experiences, perceptiveness and qualities that make
them distinct.

Everyone has the potential for learning and growth.

Everyone has their unique way of acquiring knowledge
and that everyone possessed intelligence. This
intelligence will grow differently for each person.

Comparing one’s potential must be avoided because each

one of us were blessed with unique talent and skills and it
varies from one person to another.

6. This video showed how judgmental people are. It showed

that people always find faults with others. It is always the
mistakes that we tend to find. We forget to always look
for the good side of another person.

It reminds us that nobody’s perfect. Focusing on one’s

mistakes will stop us from developing genuine
connection with other people.

Instead, let us shift to appreciating the complexities and

imperfections of another human. As what the saying
goes, WE ARE ONLY HUMAN.
