CHAPTER II

ORGANIZATION AND MANAGEMENT

Rationale

Business holds significant importance in the economy as it drives economic growth,

creates employment opportunities, and generates income. It fulfills market needs by

producing goods and services that meet the demands and desires of customers. By

effectively employing resources, business activities contribute to the overall well-being of

the economy and improve the quality of life for individuals.

Acknowledging this, Munoz National High School-Main Senior High School has

included entrepreneurship in the STEM strand curriculum (Science, Technology,

Engineering, and Mathematics). This subject serves as a practical learning tool, helping

students learn about business strategies and management, which may help them develop

essential skills, such as critical thinking and decision-making, that are applicable in various

career paths and entrepreneurial pursuits. It equips students with the knowledge and tools

to succeed in the professional world and make informed decisions in their personal lives.

In a practical application of these concepts, the students have launched Crisp Bites, a

business that aligns with the growing trend of health consciousness. By offering affordable,

convenient, and healthy vegan snacks, Crisp Bites caters to the fast-paced lifestyle of its

customers. Crisp Bites is not only committed to making profits but also aims to achieve

high customer satisfaction by serving quality products sourced locally.

2
Vision

Crisp Bites aims to be the leading provider of delicious and convenient snack

options, delighting customers with our crispy creations. We aspire to be recognized as a

symbol of excellence, innovation, and customer satisfaction in the snack industry. Our

business will also expand and establish multiple branches, extending our reach to diverse

communities and sharing our products with a wider audience.

Mission

To provide affordable, high-quality snacks that are both satisfying and healthy. We

are committed to offering a diverse range of delicious options that promote a balanced and

nutritious lifestyle. We aim to gain popularity by inspiring and motivating individuals to

prioritize their well-being despite their busy lives.

Objectives

● To provide high-quality, healthy, affordable products to all our customers.

● Strengthen relationships with existing customers by providing excellent customer

service.

● To promote health and well-being.

● Incorporate social responsibility initiatives into our business practices.

Name of the Business

The business name "Crisp Bites" cleverly combines the words "Crisp" and "Bites" to

represent our products offered. "Crisp" suggests a satisfying crunch and freshness,

appealing to customers who enjoy crispy snacks. "Bites" implies that the products are

conveniently sized for on-the-go consumption. Together, the name effectively

communicates the appealing qualities of the products, capturing the attention of snack

enthusiasts.

Figure 1: Business Logo

The logo represents our products qualities. The green color palette used and the

figure if chef’s hat symbolizes that we produce vegan and healthy foods. Also, the logo

contains our tagline “Healthy Bite, Healthy Life” which emphasize the importance of

consuming healthy foods in order to live a healthy life.

Legal Entity

Crisp Bites operates as a sole proprietorship, a legal entity chosen deliberately for

our business. As the sole proprietor, we have full control over decision-making and enjoy

the rewards of our hard work. This structure allows us to adapt quickly to market trends
4
and maintain a strong brand identity. Additionally, being a sole proprietorship simplifies

financial management and fosters personalized connections with our customers. We chose

this structure for its autonomy, simplicity, and the direct impact it has on our success.

The organization's structure is grouped according to specific functions, specifically

Salaries and Benefits

In Nueva Ecija, where the culinary scene is blooming, we are going on a path to

establish a business that not only excites mouths but also encourages employee well-being

and satisfaction. As we plan for our culinary business, we must design a full wage and

benefit plan for our employees of three cooks and one server.

According to Nueva Ecija's most current pay suggestions, our nonagriculture workers,

such as cooks and servers, will be paid an average wage of P168 per hour or P420,000 per

year. This fair wages shows our commitment to providing a fair salary that acknowledges

our team members' dedication and hard work. By fulfilling these salary guidelines, we
9
make sure that our staff receive fair wages for their contributions to our restaurant's

success.

Recognizing the importance of supporting our employees beyond financial wages, we

created a comprehensive benefit plan that aimed to boost their overall well-being and job

happiness.

Policies

Having policies is essential. The business established various regulations and

practices to make customers satisfied and encourage them to return. It also enables workers

to produce high-quality products and services. This will also function as a guide for the

entire time you are working.

For workers:

 Workers should not be discriminated against based on factors such as race,

gender, religion, age, or disability.

 Establish and enforce strict food safety protocols to ensure that all food

products are handled and prepared in a safe and sanitary manner, in

compliance with health regulations.

 Require all workers to follow proper hygiene practices, such as washing

hands regularly, wearing clean uniforms, and maintaining personal

cleanliness to prevent contamination of food.

 Provide comprehensive training for all workers on food safety, hygiene

practices, proper food handling techniques, and customer service standards.
