Ladies and gentlemen, ogres and donkeys, fairytale creatures and honored guests, today is a day that

will go down in history as the day Shrek stole the limelight and triumphed over a certain group of
monsters. I stand before you, not just as an ogre, but as an ogre with a golden statue in my green,
swampy hands

Firstly, I want to express my gratitude to the Academy for this prestigious award. It's truly an honor to
be recognized among such incredible animated films. I'd like to thank all the little onions out there – you
know who you are – for making Shrek a cultural phenomenon that transcends swamps and faraway
lands.

Now, let's talk about that other film, the one with the monsters. Monsters Inc., you say? Well, let me tell
you, it takes more than a few furry creatures and a closet door or two to outshine the majesty of Shrek.
Donkey and I have been on quite the journey, dealing with dragons, rescuing princesses, and even
managing to outshine those pesky monsters.

To the creators of Monster Inc., I want to extend my sincere congratulations. You put up a good fight,
but when it comes to storytelling, humor, and a true appreciation for layers, we've got the winning
recipe. Donkey, Fiona, and I – we've created a bond with audiences that goes beyond the surface,
straight to the heart.

I want to thank DreamWorks for believing in us, for allowing this ogre to share his story, and for proving
that even the most unconventional heroes can win the hearts of millions. I also want to thank the
incredible cast and crew who worked tirelessly to bring the magical land of Far Far Away to life. Your
dedication and talent have truly paid off.

In conclusion, I stand here not just as Shrek, but as a representation of the power of individuality,
acceptance, and the belief that everyone deserves their happily ever after. To all the little ogres out
there, never be afraid to be yourself and embrace the layers that make you unique.

Thank you, Academy, for recognizing the beauty in our swampy tale. This Oscar is not just for me, but
for all the misunderstood creatures who prove that, sometimes, the most extraordinary adventures
come in the most unexpected packages.

Shrek is not just an animated film; it's a glorious parody, a comedic masterpiece that takes the well-
trodden path of classic Disney fairy tales and turns it on its pointed, glass slipper-wearing head. You see,
dear friends, while Disney was busy enchanting audiences with princesses singing to woodland
creatures, we, at DreamWorks, were crafting a tale that dared to question the status quo.
