Introduction:
The Traffic Lights Project on Tinker cad is a sophisticated simulation that replicates a real-world traffic light
control system for a two-way intersection. In this project, we will design and program an electronic circuit
using readily available components to manage the sequence of traffic lights, just like at a real intersection.

Beyond the technical aspects, the project also delves into the principles of traffic control and automation. By
building and experimenting with the simulation, we will explore the role of technology in improving traffic
management and overall safety in our cities.

Literature Review:
The review paper titled "The Traffic Signal Control Problem for Intersections: A Review" provides a
comprehensive overview of the intersection traffic signal control problem (ITSCP). It emphasizes the growing
importance of ITSCP research due to worsening traffic congestion.

The paper defines key terminology and categorizes ITSCP network types. It outlines the challenge of finding
optimal traffic signal configurations to maximize traffic flow while considering various constraints and
objectives.

Additionally, the paper presents a citation network of relevant literature and proposes a classification scheme
for the ITSCP based on problem characteristics. It concludes by summarizing current research and suggesting
future directions.

Overall, the paper offers valuable insights into understanding and addressing the complexities of traffic signal
control for efficient traffic flow management.
