SUMMARY
earth Blocks was conducted by the researcher along with the freelance worker she
hired at an occupied shed in CTI-USM, with the help of the CTI Lab-technician from
The Bamboo was extracted at Brgy. Aringgay Kabacan Cotabato, while the
extraction of the fiber was done at her Boarding’ house at Purok, Miracle, Kabacan,
Cotabato. The mean length of the fiber is around 5 cm by measuring and cutting it using
a simple ruler and scissors. The Mixtures were 0% BF: 90% CS: 10% PC, 0.5% BF:
89.5% CS: 10% PC, 1% BF: 89% CS: 10% PC, 1.5% BF: 88.5% CS: 10% PC and 2%
strength. Study shows that the Compressed Earth Blocks with different proportioning of
Bamboo fiber increases up to 12.12 mPa on average as the mixture reaches the 2%
Bamboo fiber in mixture. In water absorption all mixtures exceeds the CEB without the
fiber. The result also shows that the water absorption of the Compressed Earth Block
increases as the proportion of Bamboo fiber increases in the mixture. With the result on
density, CEB without the fiber Obtained the highest density among the mixtures and
implies that as the proportion of bamboo fiber increases in the mixture, the density
actually decreases.
Conclusion
The study shows that Bamboo fiber use as component for compressed Earth Blocks
can be use to replace normal CEB. In terms of compressive strength, the earth Block
with the all Mixtures with bamboo fiber can substitute the CEB without fiber and also
Recommendation
Further investigation on how to lessen the water absorption and use other
techniques to improve the product, like using a more advance facility and/or admixtures
