1. Do you think that knowing students’ language learning strategies is important for the
teachers, why? (score 15)
Yes, i think so. Knowing students' language learning strategies is important enough for
teachers, because by knowing these, the teachers will understand and can choose the
appropriate strategies for the students. In order to get a maximum result in learning
language.
2. Describe how students learn English based on cognitive, affective and sociocultural
dimension. (score 25)
Students learn English based on cognitive: Cognitive Learning is a type of learning that is
active, constructive, and long-lasting. It engages students in the learning processes,
teaching them to use their brains more effectively to make connections when learning
new things.

In this context, understanding the cognitive dimension is about discerning patterns of


shared beliefs, knowledge, attitudes, and perceptions within a culture group and the way
they may affect the problem-solving and decision-making processes of individuals in that
group

Students learn English based on affective: The feelings and emotional aspects of learning
which includes particular attitudes and habits associated with learning. Examples include
self-direction, motivation, critical thinking, perseverance, positive thinking, and self-
esteem.

Students learn English based on sociocultural dimension: Sociocultural Perspective states


that much of your behavior and feelings are dictated by the culture you live in. Think
about how your culture greets one another – can you think of a way another culture might
do this differently? Does your culture value the individual or the group?
