Home Run Kings:Unit 1 outslugs Unit 3 to seal victory, 5-0

Leaving no flaws behind, a margin of 20 home runs Parang National High


School of Unit 1 abandoned Tagbina National High School of Unit 3 scoreless in five
consecutive innings during the Provincial Athletic Meet 2024 Baseball Championship
Game held at North Eastern Mindanao State University-Cantilan Campus, Cantilan
Surigao del Sur this morning.
Despite being injured, Ace Klent Jasper E. Cuartero swiftly launched his
power hitting bats and took Unit 1 baserunners Ram Adrian G. Ladra and Justine S.
Buiza to advance two home runs. Along with, Cuartero’s pinch runner Rene Christian
P. Reyes made a squeeze play when he started to run home as the opponent’s
pitcher delivered the ball. Unit 1 continued to shuffle an intense strategy showing a
solid play during the first inning and marked 8-0.
On the other hand, Unit 3 undertook efforts to reclaim its strength however
Unit 1 kept a clean record, allowing no home runs to the opponent after making a
concrete defense while Jonard C. Bruzon, the outfielder of Unit 1 simply received and
caught a can of corn ball. Moreover, Unit 1 Coach April Joseph A. Huerte visited the
mound approaching Ralph Jade B. Ruaza,the pitcher. After which, Ruaza delivered a
curvedball pitch creating an arcing trajectory that made Unit 3 unable to hit the ball.
After holding the opponent to zero runs, another deep hit deployed by
Cuartero marking another striking momentum of Unit 1. Unfortunately,While in the
batter's box, Bruzon was hit by the ball enabling him to be replaced by Neolix L.
Nozal as baserunner. But this situation never cause barrier to garner another home
runs for Unit 1 as Jayson Clark A. Togonon batted and set up a rolling ball paving the
way for Nozal and Buiza to edge 19-0 in the third inning.
A number of time out, mound and switching position were applied by Unit 3
coach still, Unit 1 continued to tightened their defense. Both teams got hitless on the
fourth inning however to continue the seven innings of the game, the Tournament
Manager together with the Shift umpire, decided to give five-home run privilege to
Unit 3 after Unit 1 scored on the fifth inning. Unit 3 aimed to acquire five home runs,
but Unit 1 consistently guarded the bases, controlled the ball, and maintained their
position as the champion of last year's Provincial Athletic Meet and a Mindanao-wide
qualifier.
