safety are highlighted in the documentation by a warning triangle.
Safety notes are marked by corresponding symbols in the operating instructions.
These notes are graded according to the degree of danger.

Legal information
These operating instructions shall introduce the operating and maintenance personnel to
the operation of the Schneider operator device.
Qualified personnel
The described device may only be set up and operated in conjunction with this
documentation. Start-up and operation of the device may only be performed by qualified
personnel. Qualified persons are defined as persons who are authorised to start-up, ground
and label devices, systems and circuits according to standards of safety engineering.
Proper use
Our products may only be used for the case of application intended in the correspondent
technical documentation. Proper transport, storage, installation, assembly, start-up,
operation and maintenance are required to ensure that the products operate safely and
without any problems. The permissible ambient conditions must be adhered to (notes in the
corresponding documentation).

1 Operator device
Only sufficiently trained and introduced personnel is allowed to operate the
plant.
The plant condition is ensured by the fault evaluation. The personnel have to check every
present fault on the operator device. Appropriate arrangements for the removal of the fault
have to be taken (see operating instructions of the machine).
An operator device which is used for controlling the entire manual mode and automatic
operation of the plant is installed in the control panel door.
You can predefine values and control drives – depending on the selected picture – by using
the touch-sensitive user interface of the operator device.
To activate functions in the plant touch the user interface.
If the touch-sensitive keys on the user interface are too small for touching them, you can
use a plastic pin.

2 User interface
2.1 Symbols and display elements
2.1.1 Keys in the menu bar
Home  Home picture
Back  Previous picture
Reset  All faults are reset.
As long as a fault is present, the key Reset flashes with a red

background. The key flashes also during the reset.
Fault messages
If a fault message is active, the key is red.
Warning messages
If a warning message is active, the key is yellow.
Operation messages
If an operation message is active, the key is green.

Stops the visualisation
2.1.3 Menus
General settings
Settings which are responsible for the programme sequence
of the machine are stored here.
Parameterise measurements
Limit values of the analogue values can be set here and
analogue values can be simulated.
Only authorised users can change values.
Service customer
Customised parameters can be set here.
This menu is only accessible for authorised users.
2.1.4 Input fields
Fields in which inputs can be made are white.

To change a value, touch the input field. Depending on variable and type of
display different input masks open. Limit values are pointed out (MIN/MAX),
if any.
You can also be asked for a password during the input.
If you enter a wrong password, the change won’t be accepted. This would
be displayed on the operator device.
Fields which only indicate values are grey.

In these fields e.g. the current flow or the current run time of a drive are
indicated.

2.1.5 Symbols
The following symbols may be displayed in the plant visualisation. By pressing the symbol
you reach the corresponding pop-up or a control screen by means of which you can
observe and control the drive.
Drives
Symbol for a motor
A ventilator or pump is respectively represented. Other motors are
represented by an “M”.
If the motor stands still, the symbol is grey.
In case of a fault the symbol flashes red/black or red/white.
During operation the symbol is green.
Valves, gates
Symbol for a valve or gate
If closed, the symbol is grey.
If open, the symbol is green.
If the drive is in motion, the symbol flashes in the colour of the expected
status.
Level switches, pressure switches and flow controllers

Symbol for a level switch, pressure switch or flow controller
If the desired status is reached, the symbol is green.
Motor gates
Symbol for a motor gate
status.

These fields indicate the operation mode and the status of the plant:

3 Operation
3.1 Home picture
Example: Home picture
The home picture contains the overview of the plant. Here you can select the operation
mode for the drives, automatic and manual. The status displays show the current
operation mode and the fault status of a drive.
Press the key Home to reach the home picture from every
NAVIGATION submenu.

3.2 Window Setting
NAVIGATION Press the key to reach the window Setting.
In the window Setting you adjust the basic settings of your programme:
• Set date and time
• Settings for each drive

3.3 Set date and time
NAVIGATION Press the key to reach the window Setting.
Set the date
1. Press the key Date or Time to reach a new picture.
2. Press on the input field for the date.  A software keyboard opens.
3. Enter a new value or change the value.

Format: Day : Month : Year
4. Confirm the entry with ENTER.

 If the change was entered correctly, it is displayed in the white input field.
5. Press the key Save to transfer the date into the PLC.
 This process takes 10 seconds.
Set the time
1. Press the key Date or Time to reach a new picture.
2. Press on the input field for time.  A software keyboard opens.
3. Enter a new value or change the value.

Format: Hours : Minutes : Seconds
4. Confirm the entry with ENTER.

 If the change was entered correctly, it is displayed in the white input field.
5. Press the key Save to transfer the date into the PLC.
 This process takes 10 seconds.

3.4 Fault messages
If a fault occurs, the key Fault message is highlighted red .
Display of all fault messages
Press the key to reach the window Fault message where all
NAVIGATION current fault messages are indicated.
The window Fault message lists all currently active fault messages including number, time
and date.

As long as a fault is present, the key Reset flashes. It also flashes during active reset.
Press the key Reset to reset all faults which have been removed.

Optional signals for faults of the plant
• Lamp
If a fault occurs, an optical signal is output.
• Horn
If a fault occurs, an acoustic signal is output.
If the acoustic fault signal is not reset, the horn stops hooting after 30 minutes.
Caution
Check regularly and particularly after reconstructions of the plant whether the
optical signals are visible.

3.5 Warning messages
If a warning message is active, the key Warning message is yellow:

NAVIGATION all current warning messages are indicated.
Warning messages do not have to be reset. If a warning message is not active anymore, it
is automatically removed from the window Warning message.

3.6 Operation messages
If an operation message is active, the key Operation message is green:

NAVIGATION where all current operation messages are indicated.
Operation messages do not have to be reset. If an operation message is not active

anymore, it is automatically removed from the window Operation message.

3.7 Message archive
Press the key Archive in the menu bar and select the
NAVIGATION required archive.
All messages, operating or fault statuses of the plant that have occurred so far are
documented in the archives. The memory size depends on the type of operator device

The incidents are classified under different categories:
K “Kommen” = come message came  a message is active
G “Gehen” = go message gone  a message is not active anymore

4 Operation modes
4.1 Manual operation mode
You select the operation mode in the Home picture.
The activated operation mode is highlighted light blue and is indicated in the status display.
4.2 Example: Controlling an aggregate

All user interfaces used for controlling actuators (motors, valves, aggregates) are structured
in the same way. The picture shown as an example is for controlling an aggregate.
Generally each drive can be switched on and off in manual operation mode. Only the
signals appropriate to the drive are monitored, e.g. motor protection switch, overpressure.

4.2.1 Control screen for aggregates
After pressing a symbol in the plant visualisation, e. g. , a new screen is opened,

where single control elements are placed. By means of control elements you can monitor
aggregates, control them and change values.

Display elements and keys

1 Plant identification code of the aggregate
2 Designation of the aggregate
3 Status display of the current status of the aggregate
4 Status display of the current operating mode
Keys for the operation in manual operation mode, depending on the aggregate:

OFF, ON or CLOSE, OPEN or BACKWARDS, STOP, FORWARDS …
6 Optional for frequency controlled aggregates: Nominal value (white)
7 Optional for frequency controlled aggregates: Actual value (grey)
Caution
The control of an aggregate via control screen refers to the electronic
connection, not to the mechanical implementation of the plant.

4.2.2 Example: Changing values
You can see and change the values of a drive in the window Setting Plant.
There are some possibilities to reach the window Setting Plant:
NAVIGATION Press the key in the Home picture.
Press the key in the menu bar on the right and then the
NAVIGATION key .

Entry of a nominal value

As an example for the change of values it is explained how to enter a nominal value of a
drive.
1. Press the dark blue input field behind the text.

 A software keyboard opens.
2. Enter the desired value.
3. Confirm the value with ENTER.

ENTER The entry is confirmed and the value is transferred.
Delete The current value is deleted.
Cursor The cursor moves to the left or to the right.
ESCAPE The entry is cancelled.

You select the operation mode in the Home picture.
The activated operation mode is highlighted light blue and is indicated in the status display.

4.4 Cleaning and maintenance
Cleaning
Caution
Risk of damage
Make sure that no cleaning solution infiltrates into the operator device.
Clean the operator device only by using a soft cotton cloth and a mild
cleaner.
Maintenance
The operator device is maintenance-free.
