WORKFLOW
Analysed a studied workflow in online admission
department (emergency):

This is the department where a patient can get the service about get online
admission in the hospitals. Through this department the patients can be transferred
from one ward to another, changing beds and get discharged.

There are few processes the have to follow during online

admission, they are:

For patients -

1. The patients party should have to be insured under the ESI scheme.
2. The patients party should have to bring the ESI card which is provided by
the ESI hospitals cause it contains the whole information about the patients and
his/her families.
3. The patients party have to renew the ESI scheme timely to continue the
provided services by the ESI hospitals.
4. There should have to be at least one familiar person’s presence, during the
online admission procedure.
5. They should have to provide the correct information about the patients
which is also included in the mentioned ESI card of the patients or any of patients
family members.
6. After completing online admission, any of one person party (should have to
be any familiar parson) have to sign in the provided required paper by the online
admission departmental stuff.
For online admission working staff –

1. Firstly the staff has to check the details, either the patient included under
the ESI scheme or not.
2. Then, if the patient is not insured under the ESI scheme, the staff should
have to inform to the doctor, who had permitted the patient to get admitted in the
hospital and also have to inform the patient party.
3. If the patient is under the ESI scheme then staff should have to firstly check
the ward in where the doctor recommended the patient to be admitted.
4. The staff have to check whether there is any empty beds in that
recommended ward or not.
5. If there are no empty beds then he/she have to inform the patient party to
wait.
6. If there is having any empty beds, the staff has to start the online admission
process by selecting the recommended ward.
7. He/she have to collect the ESI card firstly, to check the IP number of the
patient, either the IP number included under the ESI scheme or not.
8. He/she have to collect all the proper informations about the patient, which
have to get matched in the included ESI card.
9. Then, have to select the bed number under the ward and have to register
the patient’s name.
10. Then have to check weather the patient under the medicine or surgery, to
change the specific doctor for the patient (its applicable for general wards like Male
surgical ward, Female surgical ward, and some other wards).
11. Then, have to get a hard copy of that online admission procedure and get
sign by the patient party.
There are other few works like:

1.Patient discharge.
2.Checking on the empty beds, if it is registered as vacant or not.

manually.
