It was more than three decades ago when I first entered Bulaoen West Elementray

school. Three decades had passed and yet every time I recollect the memories of my time spent
in my beloved Alma Mater, it seems like it was only yesterday. I can still feel the excitement and
the pride as I share those precious memories to my kids.
I can still vividly remember how our dear Bulaoen West Elementary School looks like
before. A very simple school, but a home to very eager students and full of very intelligent,
diligent and dedicated teaching force headed by our then Head Teacher, Mr. Dominador
Quirante and our respective teachers namely Mrs. Norma Rivera – Grade 1 Teacher, Mrs.
Estrelita Ubay – Grade 2 Teacher, Mrs. Anita Lagmay – Grade 3 Teacher, Mrs. Rosalinda
Dacanay – Grade 4 Teacher, Mrs. Zita Quirante – Grade 5 Teacher and Mrs. Rosalie A.
Quirante – Grade 6 Teacher. Although learning materials and aids were very scarce at that
time, our teachers were very resourceful in preparing visual aids for us students. We are far
from digital age during that time but we are very grateful that our teachers, in their own simple
and little ways, find means to motivate us to learn. To learn not just mentally but also taught us
good values one person should have in order to succeed.
The things instilled in me during my elementary days in this school played a great role in
molding me into what I am today. The knowledge and skills I gained formed a very strong and
resilient foundation in me which carried me through life’s unending challenges and struggles,
with the grace of God of course.
Generations after generations, I will be forever proud to share the memories I had at
Bulaoen West Elementary School. Wherever life takes me, I will always bear in me the pride of
being an alumnus of Bulaoen West Elementary School. And to my fellow alumnus, I encourage
you to always strive to do the best we can in whatever field we are into, to always show the best
character to our fellowmen whatever status in life we have right now, and to always keep our
feet on the ground and be able look back and always remember our humble beginnings, for I
believe that this is the best way to show our gratitude to our dear Alma Mater.
To the teaching force, thank you for your selfless love and dedication to your profession.
May you continue to uphold the legacy of our dear Alma Mater, and that is to provide quality
education and help mold young minds into becoming greater and bolder for a better and brighter
future ahead, today, tomorrow and for always.
God speed at Mabuhay po tayong lahat!
